Seriously, Capn is the man when it comes to shoes. I dont think anyone comes close. Really glad we have such a generous knowledge base when it comes to this stuff.

I assumed that since it's a shawl collar tux there's a specific type of person who would really, really want it. If not, I'm out $10 because they were tagged separately.

I was just browsing the re-released McAllister on the interwebs and it looks like the toe box has been rounded out slightly. And $355, zoinks!!! I'll take the $10 pair please. biggrin.gif

Thanks, you are too kind. There are others with much more knowledge than me on most shoes, but I can find my way around a pair of Allen Edmonds...or Hanover shoes.

+1 (not on you being a moron, on the wife's thoughts).
I'd like to ask mine to do a thrift fit pic but she'd just roll her eyes.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Nice find on the Bathing Ape polo, they can fetch quite a good sum on Ebay especially with the Asian crowd. I was quite into it about 8 years ago.

I understand completely. My wife doesn't completely get the whole thing, but she tolerates it pretty well. I was surprised, however, when she suggested we hit some thrifts in Vienna on Monday. I think she knows I've been a bit stressed at work. smile.gif

I'm finally caught up! You guys have been tearing it up lately. Spent 4 days camping out (Saturday through Tuesday) and managed to get my daughter into Gilbert A. Montessori in Cincinnati (this received some discussion around 500-700 posts back, also known as last week). Thrifted a few Harris Tweeds, Zegna silk knit tie, vintage lands end argyle lambs wool vest, and made in Scotland cashmere sweater. Pics soon.

Congrats Dan. I heard the German School only had 70 openings for the entire school.

Picked up a sweet irish made fisherman's knit sweater. Seems like gray quality. Anyone familiar with Carraig Donn?
