Face it, this whole obsession we have with expensive used clothes is escapism at its finest, we're trying to look as rich as we can on a budget.  We are all more or less "herb".

Brostein walks around NYC wearing clothes, I find it ridiculous. I could give fuck all where he's from. I bow to your superior taste and knowledge in all things, mr. "I come from an understanding of all independent music."

45RPM, Sugar Cane, Mister Freedom, Flat Head, Kapital, Warehouse, Fullcount, Pure Blue Japan are all good places to start if you want the purest, slubbiest, hand dyed product.

But denim is an old fashioned, irregularly woven twill fabric.  Just buy straight Visvim trousers if you want to make people bust a nut.

I splurged on two pairs of Sugar Canes last month while in Japan and they are by far one of my favorite purchases. Seriously, they blow any other pair of jeans I've owned out of the water in terms of feel, fit and construction. Love the cut of the 1947 Version 2 (2009 model, slimmer cut) and the Hawaii model is icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif . My entry into denim was a pair of raw, selvedge RRLs I got from Marshalls years ago. Still have them too. If you need to get into raw denim on the cheap, I suggest an eBay pair of RRLs.

Traditional, billowy cuts that didn't flatter me, but if anyone's interested, PM and I can get you the phone number. I'm sure they'd be willing to go a phone order.

That's a good price for Jean Shop! I'd advise anyone in the market for some nice jeans to look into this if they are your size.

I also spied these on a cart that was coming out (who knew the whole waiting for a cart/rack thing applied to Marshall's too?

Purple label thick as hell skeety tie, and a mf'ing black label woven silk tie. They had a few of each, I think asking $50 for the purple and $40 for the black. Hmm maybe it was the other way around. Underneath there were various RL branded beanies, they had a sick denim & supply one not shown for $20, but I just couldn't drive myself to get it. Speaking of driving, then I found out my car battery was dead.ffffuuuu.gif

Horse ace, you're a lawyer, correct?  You can talk your way out of any situation, but that doesn't make you right.

All I'm sayin' is that I wouldn't mind getting a cup of coffee and having a conversation about spalla camicia with the Woost.

Ah, you got on that train, too? I picked up 5+ pairs of RRL jeans at marshalls and tjmaxx a few years ago for like $35/pair. It was insane. More recently from Marshall's I picked up a pair of Rag & Bone selvage from their made in USA stuff. I love those, but I'm currently too chubby to fit in them.

The Jean Shops were the regular cut. They had one 32 (must be vanity sized because they were too big for me), but most were in the 34-38 range. A few weren't selvage, though.

not to interrupt the wonderful debate going on here but I need feedback on this asap as it pertains to something that is due in the morning (goodness gracious am I so dependent on this thread that I go to it for advice on homework ffffuuuu.gif) let me put it this way if you were in a goodwill and were forced had to buy artwork that is some way represents religion in a modern sense and these were the only two there and you choose which one to buy on the backing alone (black or white) which one would it be?
