45RPM, Sugar Cane, Mister Freedom, Flat Head, Kapital, Warehouse, Fullcount, Pure Blue Japan are all good places to start if you want the purest, slubbiest, hand dyed product.


But denim is an old fashioned, irregularly woven twill fabric.  Just buy straight Visvim trousers if you want to make people bust a nut.

I splurged on two pairs of Sugar Canes last month while in Japan and they are by far one of my favorite purchases. Seriously, they blow any other pair of jeans I've owned out of the water in terms of feel, fit and construction. Love the cut of the 1947 Version 2 (2009 model, slimmer cut) and the Hawaii model is . My entry into denim was a pair of raw, selvedge RRLs I got from Marshalls years ago. Still have them too. If you need to get into raw denim on the cheap, I suggest an eBay pair of RRLs.
That's a good price for Jean Shop! I'd advise anyone in the market for some nice jeans to look into this if they are your size.
