Talking about the fickle tastes of the bay buyer, how does an LL Bean chamois shirt worth $35 get an order of magnitude more watchers than a Zegna fall casual shirt worth over $200 at the same price point? I'm happy to sell chamois till the cows come home, but I despair at the tastes of the buying public.

I sold a J Crew shirt for more than a Borrelli shirt a few weeks ago.  puzzled.gif I almost always pass on mediocre stuff so as to avoid filling the car every trip, but maybe being a volume flipper isn't such a bad idea...

Despair not, for taste - a fool and his money are soon parted; every pot has a lid; and wealth does not equate taste. Remember these ancient flipping proverbs and you shall go far....

Since we're on the subject, I just sold a Banana Republic t-shirt this evening for the same amount as a nice gray pinstripe Oxxford suit in a 42 R. puzzled.gif

It's something I always wanted, but unfortunately it's huge for me. It's tagged an EU 52 and here are the measurements:

Measurements/Maße:

Armpit to armpit/Brustweite : 59cm

Sleeves/Ärmellänge: 62cm

Shoulders/Schulterbreite: 50.5cm

Length from base of collar/Gesamtlänge (ab Kragen): 81cm

Sorry, they're in cm and I'm on my iPad and it was just far easier copying and pasting satisfied.gif

Ok, you win. That's insane.
Sometimes it works in our favors though. Yesterday I picked up recent AE Delrays for $12 BIN (!) because "the heels were worn" and they need polishing. I guess there are sellers who know as little as some of the buyers.

Edit: I apologize for the big pictures, first time using photobucket instead of SF's built in feature.

I ain't no expert but that design sure doesn't look very Hermes like, feel me? It looks like a 3rd grader's art project fail. LOL

Stumbled upon two RLBL suits, need to let out the hip area by a 1/2 an inch or so and the waist. Hope these are the real deal so I can tailor & dry clean them to use as beaters. Anyone know if these are legit? Made a thread with more photos here.

^^If those are real, very nice job!

HOLD ON, are you telling me this is the Black Fleece Sport Shirt tag? I've seriously been passing these up left and right thinking they were just regular sport shirts.

Yeah I have no idea how to describe this one. 3rd grader's drawing of different kinds of sushi, maybe?

Top L-R: Santoni, Magnanni, AE Montgomery
Bottom L-R: Alfred Sargent for BB Peal&Co, Hanover shell, Alden shell LHS
The Magnannis and the AEs have been worn fewer than a handful of times. The rest are in 8-9/10 condition.
Most of these were at a local thrifts annual big event. I also picked up three Oxxford jackets, including my grail item. Or, what I thought to be my grail item. Turns out an Oxxford navy blue hopsack blazer in 48L is too long for me. So I've now adjusted my grail item to an Oxxford navy blue hopsack blazer in 48R. Also got a near new (may never have been worn) Brooks Brothers trench coat, ties by Battistoni, Hilditch&Keys and Brioni and some BB tweed 3/2 sacks for the guys on TOF.

Those Hanover shell saddles are gorgeous! Love that color. inlove.gif

And they look sooo small!! ????

Nope, that's mainline Brooks Brothers—not Black Fleece.
^ yup, that's correct. similar to the Burberry's/Prorsum situation: just because the BB label has a black fleece on it doesn't mean that it's Black Fleece.
