In bragging news I found these AE Byron's in my size at one of their sister stores yesterday.

Was that for Valley Thrift in Cincinnati? That sounds so familiar.

^i suppose it would help if I had bothered to click the link rather than jus read the review. That place is a madhouse, but you can find some good stuff there if you can put in the time - that place is freaking huge.

Yeah. I've only ever been to the one in Fairfield. Sounds like it's pretty similar though.

No Brioni, Kiton, Isaia, or Belvest here, but picked up a couple nice things today:

Khaki slacks from "Gruppo Studio" Corneliani, great condition. Really baggy. I'll probably appreciate it next summer, though, but it'll take some getting used to.

700

BB 90/10 wool/cashmere 2B suit, marked "Made In Italy", perfect condition, with barely noticeable pinstripes. I can't decide whether it's very dark navy (my first impression) or very dark grey. A small square of paper in a coat pocket said "Controllo 1", so either it got practically no wear (if any) or the previous owner never checked that pocket.

I understand the tone of the review in this case.  So glad to not have to deal with the haughty red-blooded conservatives of the Cincinnati exurbs anymore....

This weekends shoe haul.

shoehaul.jpg

Top L-R: Santoni, Magnanni, AE Montgomery
Bottom L-R: Alfred Sargent for BB Peal&Co, Hanover shell, Alden shell LHS

The Magnannis and the AEs have been worn fewer than a handful of times. The rest are in 8-9/10 condition.

Most of these were at a local thrifts annual big event. I also picked up three Oxxford jackets, including my grail item. Or, what I thought to be my grail item. Turns out an Oxxford navy blue hopsack blazer in 48L is too long for me. So I've now adjusted my grail item to an Oxxford navy blue hopsack blazer in 48R. Also got a near new (may never have been worn) Brooks Brothers trench coat, ties by Battistoni, Hilditch&Keys and Brioni and some BB tweed 3/2 sacks for the guys on TOF.
