Do not cut! That will lead to unraveling. Use the needle and thread trick I posted a couple pages back to pull it back through. If you have a lining to deal with, rather than sticking the needle all the way through, treat it like a basting stitch and bring the needle back out the front far enough away from the entry that the pull doesn't come back out the exit.

Thanks for the heads up.  I figured this was only for thicker threads like those on cashmere sport coats.  Didn't think it was possible with ties....

I myself would pick up that Rag & Bone blazer to flip. Those NSW chinos were a good pick up on your part in my eyes.

I think $60 for Rag and Bone unstructured jacket is not bad given if they fit you.

I got these shoes because the logo was a pair of lions on each side of a shield, so I thought they might be Church's, but it turns out they are from the Portage Shoe Co., a now-defunct shoe company from Milwaukee. They still feel pretty nice, so if anybody wearing 9.5D wants a pair of split-toes for cost+shipping, let me know.

I will make an honest attempt at getting some cookies sent. I think my wife would be willing to take the challenge, we'll have to see biggrin.gif. The biggest problem, however, is shipping them. I think we shipped some a couple of years ago and they crumbled apart by the time they made it. If I can come up with a way to pack them, I'd like to think it could be done. That is, of course, if anyone is willing to pay the shipping. biggrin.gif I'll ask my wife about it this afternoon.

I have always loved the Ralph Lauren umbrellas from the '80s. They're really well made and always go for a decent amount ($100-200) on eBay and the sellers never ship them internationally. I may buy one of the British umbrellas that cost a lot or there is a nice company in Vienna that makes them. However, I'd always eyed a blackwatch RL one from the '80s.

Lets start with the basics.

Harris Tweed for Lands End.  Cool.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

A really nicely patterned SC.  Yes, it's unvented but it fits sooooo well.  Good content too.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

A very vintage suede stadium jacket in my size.  Any idea on the maker from the crest on the size tag?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Just your average minty fresh Ermenegildo Zegna flannel shirt.

A couple ties.  The Charvet has some tiny pulls that I could probably knock off with a razor.

Some oldish Allen Edmonds boots.  I regrettably had to pass on a pair of some very well made side zip All Saints boots  as they were a size too large and the sole was coming apart.  A shame.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

HEFTY Rochester shoe trees...

Now lets get to the juicier stuff.

Here's a pile of trousers.  In the mix we have Incotex, Zanella (yes, there are unicorns), Ralph Lauren (cursive) blue label, Paul Smith London, OG Dockers K-1 Cramerton Twill and Bill's.  The Zanella 5 pocket model is unhemmed, probably only tried on.  See the spoiler for more deets.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Barbour and John Smedley sweaters.  The Barbour is 85% wool, 15% cashmere and has a few minor holes.

Paul Smith London Westbourn, perhaps an orphan.  The content tag was cut out, but I believe it's the same as in the trousers posted above.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

This one's definitely an orphan, but I wonder if you can order the matching trousers from Brooks Brothers.  This also has the tag that's in the Paul Smith London trousers.  Any confirmation on the manufacturer?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And....I'm sad to say that the greatest find of the day is.....

WAIT

FOR

IT

A

SKEEET

SKEET

Blanket.  NWT.  Next to a Mastai Ferretti shirt that I'm going to try to rock next spring.

Now cue DM7 rolling in with a truckload of NWT Boglioli unstructured sport coats.

Sorry, I had to spoiler everything. That was an awesome haul, congrats! I'd be interested in hearing what pants you have in a 30 or 31 devil.gif

It will be a challenge to match the two and it's certainly condemned on SF, but it really depends. How old is the jacket? How used is it? How much light has it seen? Hard to answer all of those, but if you wanted to get very close to it, it's possible. I'd take a look at Corneliani tux pants and hold them together. Worst case, contact a tailor and see what he could make up to match the two. If you don't wear black tie often and the jacket fits you well, it may be worth the time/money. That is, of course, if you don't mind the two being off slightly. I'd be willing to bet that many on here might notice but that you'd be safe with the general public.

You could also go tartan if you are wearing it for Christmas/Holiday parties.

Haha, I read this and continued, waiting for some snark as this sounds exactly like younger generations being portrayed in the media...whiny and entitled. nod[1].gif Anyway, it looks like they go from $140-300 new on eBay in a size 15. As others have said, it is probably not worth it.

+1, I picked up sweet looking peak lapel tuxedo Friday, that will likely be one of my big sales of the week since sadly it is Tommy Hilfiger. A fool and his money are soon parted.

No offense....but please do not send any cookies to me.

I too bake an insane amount of cookies over Christmas holiday. My mother used to do it every year as gifts for family and friends, but had to stop since her husband is not allowed to eat sweets and couldn't stay out of the cookie jar (can you blame him). After a couple years of hearing the sadness and disappointment in everyone's voices, that there were none of my mom's famous cookies...I took over the tradition. Do not even come to my house for the two weeks before Christmas, as I will be working to bake a few hundred dozen in 20-25 varieties. It is the only time of year my wife and I don't like each other...lol.

None taken! Wow, that's a pretty intense cookie system. Maybe you should start taking some SF orders happy.gif Food in the month of December is some of my favorite...what other time of the year do people bring in sweets to work or to their neighbors?
