The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 3537

Picked up some stuff today, not a lot for the amount of driving I did...but I was scouting some new places and definitely eliminated a lot of unnecessary stops for future trips. Not pictured is a BB Golden Fleece SC that I will post tomorrow.

This store actually had some decent stuff, but I had to turn down most of it because it was too pricey, even though they were having a 50% off sale. Passed on a 100% cashmere Canali blazer, among others.

Had in my hands a size 44 Loro Piana (NOT Loro Piana Fabric for insert random company here) Brown Checkered Sport Coat.... Unstructured, 3-roll-2, mint condition with no flaws.

For $45... I let it go, as it was too big for me. Was it a steal or just a good deal?

I personally find the online prices to be extremely over priced for their items, but I can definitely vouch for the quality. Apparently when you get on Oprah once, you get to double everything.

I love Florida and wouldn't trade it for the world, but it does have it's limitations. I try to cope by playing hockey. It's the only chance I get to ever wear a sweater.

Well, you have to sacrifice something by ordering online. I liked the last baker I used as she shipped things out overnight, so the person would receive cookies that had been baked within the last day. I'd be happy to order from your girlfriend's sister if she could offer the same shipping options.

My father-in-law played hockey for years and has the knees to prove it. He doesn't understand my distate for winter sports, but I just enjoy the spring/summer too much to take part. smile.gif

Real, nice!
You did, sorry bro.
I prefer "shacket".

I'll try to get my wife to get baking. She does have a "baking party" planned one weekend soon and I'm supposed to take the dog and go drinking for the day. Not her exact words, but that's how I heard it.

PSA: Spoo had a birthday.

Gucci, Genuine Crocodile, the leather shows some wear but it isn't dry and there are no cracks

It says Vett on the buckle as well, I have no clue what that means

I wasn't sure, but the belt looked pretty dry. I suppose Spoo knows what he's talking about as he's a croc/alligator afficionado.

Nice find! I'd love to try a Brioni polo. I've thought about going through Kent Wang for a MTM, but I'd love to find a Brioni polo in my size for less than €10.

Not even that - Gucci belts are not made in Venezuela.

Closed now... I'll go back tomorrow first thing in the morning.

What's the market value of this in size 44 anyway? Ebay is flooded with name spamming LP fabrics.

Eh, that's alright. It is my size, which is why I bought it. So I am not sad. It's a nice belt.

The Gucci buckle has, what seem to be, the right markings. Random belt on a Gucci buckle??

I had my third request to get some pictures up from my city. I am going to get some decent pictures of our thrift stores and how small they are and how limited selection can be. I'll also get a few pictures from my favorite shops in the city center. For now, I have a few pictures of my area. If you are only in it for thrift finds, go ahead and skip the spoiler. smile.gif I'll post some more when I get a chance to go through all of my pictures. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

+1. Big mistake on leaving that. As Spoo said, run back ASAP. I'd be waiting at the door tomorrow morning if I were you.
