While I normally appreciate this contrast, I think it works better when both of the sandwiching colors (blues here) are solids or quieter patterns. I assume the goal was to get the tie into the outfit, and with that jacket in particular, so I'll treat those as fixed points. Instead of going with a brown or with a complementary color, I would go with an analogous color for the sweater; I still think a sweater is a good idea to provide some insulation between the two patterns. Hence I would be seeking to make the sweater an extension of the jacket while not clashing with it -- darker purples, greens, blues, all could work, preferably with some texture to balance out the visual activity of the jacket. Then going for a non-blue neutral would work for a shirt, such as a cream or ecru as was suggested for the PS. I would go for a simpler PS, in color maybe somewhere between the tie and the cream shirt (muted orange as you have?), but a discreet pattern would be fine, even preferable, if the scale of the pattern doesn't clash with the jacket. In general when trying to combine loud patterns, I seek to reduce the scope of the color palette in order to diminish the boldness of the juxtaposition, but that's just my taste. That tie + jacket combo is a challenge!
Wow, thanks for such an analysis! I will try the jacket again next week and make an attempt to tone everything else down. I am going to keep my eye out for a navy cashmere v-neck sweater, though no one has them on sale right now. Maybe closer to Christmas I could find something that would blend a bit.

Sorry to have spoiled your image, but if I take the time sometime I'll try to dig up a couple of pictures of myself in tracht (think loden green colors and lederhosen) in the mountains. My wife will wear a dirndl for any reason at all, she loves it and I usually just have to give her an excuse.

I understand your lack of enthusiasm with Armani given your history, but I couldn't help but laugh as this sounds like something someone would say about an old girlfriend

Today, I rocked my new fave suit: J Press navy tight chalk stripe. Fist time I wore it. Fit me like a glove off the hanger, and looked indescribably baller. Seriously, it was f-cking awesome. On the way home, after an epic 2.5 hour, 20 mile drive home in the snow, in which I managed several Neo-esque escapes from catastrophe, I step out of my car onto my driveway and take a digger. Onto my knee. Ripping my f-king suit trou.

And assuming not to any of the above, can a brother get a moment of silence?
Ouch, that's a painful thing to hear. I'm sorry for your loss, you have my condolences.
