Ok, first real thrift fit. (my previous being all blackwatch with blackwatch umbrella). Let me know what you think in general, and also in particular as what else I could wear with these pants given their odd color and weave (herringbone). These things are baller though, so i need some ideas. Stance is weird but natural lol, im a stocky dude. HF Blazer thrifted by me for 5, brioni shirt from my man CottonDockers, Pants Zanella Platinum unicorns thrifted by me for $4, shoes Church's consul custom grade Mercuryman via EazyE, not seen Baume and Mercier watch. Thrift fit 1st edition (Click to show)
It's funny, after talking to you via text and on the forum, I still just assumed you looked like you avatar.
Looks good but what was mentioned earlier, the jacket looks a tad short. That could be just from the way you are standing though. Good to see those Church's go to a good home!
Update on my ridiculous coat. I am going to pass on the fox fur coat and get this instead: Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) It's a 50/50 cashmere/wool Aquascutum with some sort of legit fur collar. Pictures when it arrives.
Oh...sweet.....Jesus....that is awesome!!!!! Nice pick up! I think you should pair it with a Homburg.
Fantastic!!!!!

In the pricing discussion (hey stop people if you've heard that before) I just want to interject: It pays to ingratiate yourself to the people who work there. Talk to them, smile, say hello every time you go in, learn their names, say "Hi, [insert name here]" and don't be a scowling jerk like some of the customers I'm sure you've seen. Take them donuts! Whatever.
This paid off for me recently. just a small thing, but I knew it was a reward for "paying it forward."
Rhoda, who works at my local SA, actually encourages me to come in and buy stuff to flip. She is so friendly to me now that she suggests things for me and hopes I find things ahead of others. They're living month to month on the store rental, and she appreciates my loyalty and understands that regulars like me are helping them out.
They're also pricing some things higher now in hopes of making the rent.
I walk in last week, find a Polo SC in great shape, it's priced $9.99, which is 2x-3x the usual. She looks around when ringing me up. It's half-price day for every tag color except the one on this particular jacket...and says "Honey, this too expensive." Rings it in at half.
Rhoda rules. Small victory, but that rule "Don't be an ass" will eventually pay off for you, somehow.
This is true. I've gotten to be on good terms with a dude at the SA down the street from my house. I go in there 4-5 times a week in a good week. He's given me the in's and out's of what goes on there, they can't buy anything form that particular store, but they get discounts at the other stores etc. He also happens to be a collector of records, so whenever there is a stack of them in back that hasn't been put out yet, and I come in, he lets me know and lets me have a pick through them. He also randomly give me discounts on clothing because I shop there so much. I know this goes against some of you guys code of thrift store conduct, but, I don't ask for it, he just does it at the register and I'm not going to tell him to charge me the $3 or whatever for a particular item. :end rant
