Also, I found a pair of the Florsheim Imperial longwings, the awesome kind with that metal v-shaped piece in the heel that people used to post in this thread all the time, but they looked to be in not so good shape. It looked like the leather on the top of the sole was fraying. Are they still worth a pickup?

yes if size 11.5 or 12

How are the soles? Could be worth it, could not. I think they'll fetch a bit on ebay regardless, but v cleats are a bitch to ship.

They are however incredibly awesome to wear, unless you walk on marble/buffed floors often.

Whatever.

Out of about 7 regular stops of mine, two stores in particular seem to have very sour employees. One has a couple friendly folks working there who always smile and say hello and sometimes stop for a chat. The other one doesn't seem to have a single one. Everyone there avoids eye contact, never says hello (except one manager once in a while) and just don't seem happy in general. This store's customer base is roughly 50% hard-core flippers, 25% casual flippers and 25% regular folks, so I guess I can see why.

There's one store run by some lil old ladies who are nice to me and I'm nice back. The local SA has one regular guy, but he's usually in the office. Everyplace else has pretty heavily rotating folks.

Those APCs are so nice icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

My find from the day. Oxxford Clothes Houndstooth dated 2000 (not sure if that counts as "recent") Nonetheless, real nice: 3-Roll-2, double vented, ticket pocket, lapel loop. No fiber content tag but my guess is a soft wool. There a chance it could be some sort of casmere or angora blend though. My pictures don't do it justice. Needs a pressing. 42 R, Available for sure!
Details and Measurements (Click to show)

Pattern Detail:

Here's the tag. It's very interesting to me because it is marked "Proto-Sample" It also has me confused because it says 42R then it says "Sport A- 36R" I don't think that is a reference to a pants size. Anyone care to fill me in?

P2P 21.5
Shoulder 20
Length from BOC 31.5

Also if anyone is a 16 and interested in 3 Thomas Pink Shirt in light solid blue let me know. They were a little bit higher than thrift prices hence why I left them behind. One needed the treatment the others were A-OK

^^ Nice score!! That is a beautiful jacket. Since Oxxford has been around for ages and we mostly find the old stuff, anything with that style model label I'd consider recent. Also, pretty sure that it was a suit. That style Oxxford label also notes the style and size of trousers if there were any and it appears that one does. Comb the store for the pants as that would be a killer suit! If you can't find them, no biggie as it's such a bold pattern it could easily be worn as a sportcoat. Honestly, if I hadn't seen the inside label I wouldn't even have known it was a suit.

I was worried about that! I never seen waist size listed with R after it before oh well. Pants weren't there tonight but I'll keep popping in. I agree with the sportcoat idea, I honestly had no idea this would even be part of the suit.

Really? If you ever decide to give it a new home, PM me.

The bags are a bit rigid for canvas, and a bit heavier than Tumi, but I became a convert when I checked a duffle on an international flight. It arrived with a slash in the canvas - and B&R repaired it for the cost of shipping.
I travel enough that a bag that I don't have to worry about is worth its weight.
