Macklemore was basically a regional Seattle recording guy until "Thrift Shop" hit a few weeks ago. With 9 million YouTube views, he's everywhere now, MTV, etc.

 

If you want to indulge just a bit more Macklemore, check out this video "And We Danced" which is an homage to 80s big hair rock, Michael Jackson choreography, and 1960s Lenny Bruce foul-mouthedness. This talented guy's work likely portends an unyieldingly bright future. Link:

Honestly, not really. They might be your style and really comfortable, but I don't know of a situation in which they'd really fit.

Very very recent Brioni for Neiman Marcus black peak lapel sports coat/orphan.  Slimmer fitting 40R, soft as a baby's bottom.  Unsure if it's a keeper as of right now as I don't know how much use I'd get out of a black sports coat.

 

Needless to say, I was fired up....

Find a harris tweed, or a quality donegal (will have nice "hand woven in" tags). Feel that, that's what good tweed is like.

It should be stiff. It's a dense, heavy, rough wool, originally made for being durable work and hunting wear- think breaking up rocks in your fields during an irish or scottish winter, 34 degrees and rainy. It may very well soften up after years of wear, though there are tweeds these days made to have the look, but be softer. Those won't have quite the durability and warmth, but that can be good for some.

But since they do last forever, finding a decent tweed jacket for yourself is fairly easy. Grab yourself one and wear it for a while.


Those are intended for people who work in industrial settings. Say, a mechanic, or somebody on a factory floor with lots of fluids dripping on hard concrete. That's the vibe they're going to give off regardless of what you wear them with.

Those are really cool.

dunno if this was true everywhere, but when i was in high school (in southern california), i think that style of shoe was called "creepers." goth-types would wear them. sort of the same crowd who'd wear doc martens.
