Wow, nice. You're right, those are incredibly old I'd say. When you receive them, would you mind posting some better pictures? Based on the font alone and the POLO BY RALPH LAUREN, I'd say you're looking at early '70s to early '80s. Congrats!

That sounds like a really good idea...I've never worn a bow tie but may in the future and I wont wear these as is. Which ones do you think would work the best as bows?

Thanks for the idea!

It would be nice to have a unique keepsake.

Or, you could donate them to your local police department. Plainclothes cops seem to love ties that are 20 years gone...

Thanks, man. I will definitely polish them up and post some better pictures.

Someone better be bringing me a nepenthe - preferably whiskey - to compensate for hunting through the detritus of my grammar knowledge to pull up that tidbit.
Can we PLEASE save the grammar talk for a grammar forum?

It is "whisky," if you have any taste and more than eight original teeth. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I think the light blue with yellow/white flowers would look great as a bowtie.

Happened to drive by a thrift store today so I said why the hell not.  Haul from my first ever thrift experiment.

- Three suits (second two both Southwicks from the same man).  All roughly 42R.  Keeping, pending there is enough cloth to let out in waist.

- Two JM (size 8.5D).  Purchased with mindset that I can pass these off cheap to someone to thank the thread and those who helped me out a few months ago to start my business wardrobe. Not necessarily SF approved but quality starters.

- SF captoe (size 8D).  Hopefully these are worth something on eBay after I clean them up.

Thanks!  I was pleased with myself and wanted to rock them.  If they fit a little better, I was willing to stretch the boundaries of my style...

Not quite thrift pricing, but I'll do OK. Left behind a couple of Zegnas that were too pricey and 3 or 4 Oxxford bespoke sportcoat/odd trouser combos that were huge. Oh, and two other Attolini pieces (summer suit and SC) that had moth damage. I was crushed about those.

Hoping you post pics of these. I wouldn't have had been able to put damaged Attolini back on the rack, such a grail find congrats on what you did pick up.

hello old men it turns out my friends and I are throwing an "anti" homecoming so obligatory thrift fit coming your way

deets, dolce and gabbana blazer that spoo hated but I kept any way XD

burberry london shirt

no name tie

vintage linen pocket square

bar 3 macys pants (not thrifted)

bostonian captoe oxfords not the nicest but they work

I think the pattern on the jacket work okayish

best part is the badass lining

and my trousers have a slight break

all in all I am pretty happy total cost is something like 20 bucks since the shoes are my dads and the pants were a gift, wish me luck friends
