CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. The one issue is that it is missing the size tag patch on the back of the jeans.

I notice that he doesn't say that they're actually from the 40s. Rather, they "seem to be from the 40s." Recent LVC copies of these jeans also "seem to be from the 40s."

Next, he assures, "These are the real deal..." Well, Levi's LVC reissues are the "real deal" as well — right down to the aged and rusted rivets.

Finally, the fact that the size tag patch is missing makes it far more difficult to establish whether these are actually 70 year old jeans or if they're 2 or 3 year old selvage LVCs.

It's hard for me to believe that folks are bidding these up to $3k with practically no established history or provenance. Frankly, in my opinion (with the obvious caveats in tow), these look too new to actually be 70 years old.

Do the new LVC's have the 2,4, or 6 on the back of the top button too?

My relatively new "1947" Levi's LVCs have this number on the back of the top button:

I think so you can get a little more length on your sleeve or less (variable sleeve length?). Your'e only supposed to show 1/8" of sleeve (or is it 1/4"?) with a coat.

Holy hell, man. I guess you should let me know if any of the suits are 38-40 S, but I doubt I can afford them.

And here's the shell, these are the best pictures I could come up with, they cleaned up quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Not sure what your issue was earlier. They look nice to me and not at all obnoxiously square-toed. If they were my size you'd have a PM already (and I'm sure you've already got a couple anyway).

I just want to say that I'm glad you and I have gotten so close in this thread and to say how generous it is of you to be willing to hook up people like me in your new store.

So dm7, how does it feel to be a (thrift) god among men?
