It is an interesting thread to say the least. . .

This is the last I'm going to say about it, thank you all for the condolences, it really means a lot that a bunch of strangers/friends on the interwebs can be so thoughtful. revolve.gif

And I thought I did well today with my BB ESF blue/white stripe shirt and a killer Breuer red with light blue spots tie. And then Lobbs and Tom Ford.

The winner didn't even get involved until the bid was already $150. That is nuts.

Yeah, I finally bought some nice things at Marshall's for super cheap, and then the thread blows up with really, really nice stuff.

And DM7 didn't even show anything from his 1500 item haul of the best of #menswear

Damn, bro, those are nice! I wish they were my size!  So hard to find shoes in such good form with closed-lacing.

DM7 may be the Henry Ford of thrifting. He's taken it into the Industrial Revolution.

No joke.  In grad school I can barely manage once or twice a month with my academic, extracurricular, and personal obligations; and of course with slim pickings around me I hardly end up with anything.  No idea how he does it.  Of course the internets and forums such as this one often serve (for me at least) as a casual release, a place separate from and almost forming its own reality, where one can engage with others in abstraction away from gritty day-to-day affairs.  Nevertheless, it might serve as an unwelcome venture from levity to breach the fourth wall and remind ourselves about priorities... peepwall[1].gif

That was my fall break rotflmao.gif

But also... I'm basically working from when I get up (8am usually) to when I go to sleep (1 am).  In addition to "thrifting" the 3500 items I have in inventory, school (including two 300 level math classes), and visiting my girlfriend in Santa Barbara every weekend, I just released an "album" of algorithmic (computer generated) music.  That's what I really want to brag about.

here it is:

unorganized diaries

edit: and about it... the notes are triggered randomly more or less.  On most tracks in this set, I just give it a certain probability that a given note in D minor would play (did the same with drums) and then engineered some really long effects chains.  I tried to set up an algebra of sorts in a few of them by allowing operations such as addition using some weird stuff... I'm working on organized diaries, in which the tracks will still be randomly generated, but will be indiscernible from human written compositions.

Whoa whoa, easy there Stockhausen.  You're going to burn out before you turn 25!

I suppose this can be my introduction thread too. Hi all, I'm a  longtime lurker who finally made an account. I'm a freshman in college, and, amongst other things, an avid thrifter. You guys gave me the idea to try and make some extra cash at it too- which I did for the first time today! smile.gif Within the past month, I've found tons of stuff, but I figured I'd photograph today's haul for fun!

First up, a mediocre quality leather jacket that I likely overpaid for, but may be the best fitting garment I've ever owned, so I consider it a win :)

The items that follow are all going to be FOR SALE in the next week or so, I need to figure out SF's B/S/T policies and set prices, but if anyone's interested in anything and wants more pictures/info or make an offer, just hit me up.

Medium Brooks Bro's shirt, light blue with red and yellow vert stripes

Medium Armani Collezioni shirt, beige with white and blue stripes. Tag says 15 1/2 34-35

Large Billy Reid shirt, very light blue and yellow plaid

And, definitely the crown jewel of thrifting today, a VERY nice looking Turnbull and Asser shirt that makes me wish I was a large!

Cool shit man. Remind me of back in the day when I used to listen to IDM/Experimental shit. We're talking '99. What are you working with?
