Thanks for the advice. As I said I'll be returning it. As for the pants, I've yet to measure them. I'll let you know.

I've heard of those but never come across any.  I wonder what the deal was, they were selling RLPL quality at slightly higher PRL prices.

 

I don't think any PRL shirts are made in Italy any more, even their nice cursive label dress shirts are made in China now.  The cursive label PRL dress shirts I own are quite nice, and clearly nicer than regular PRL or Brooks Brothers, but also clearly not RLPL level.

I actually loved the PRL shirts that were made in Italy. I am fairly sure they stopped that line, but I do have a couple of PRL shirts that I bought recently that were made in China or some other country and have MOP buttons. Seem to be well made and lack the pony. Not sure what their story is.

I always pick up the REGENT from the PRL line. Every single one ive come across seems very high quality. I think its their most expensive shirt from that line too.

 

I picked up a sweet one in a salmon color, with striped, spread color, split back yoke, and side gussets. The pony logo is embroidered on the gussets.

 

All the ones ive come across seem to be made in Hong Kong.

True. I have had good experience with Regents, the last one I ordered wasn't the best. After 4-5 washes and never dried in a dryer, the collar and cuffs started to fray. I got rid of it as I have a number of other shirts, but I wasn't pleased with it. When I'm in the US, I'll overpay for RLPL as I can't find it here. However, there are probably better alternatives out there as far as quality goes (in shirts).

The recent well-made ones should be those cursive label shirts--check your shirts, the label underneath the Polo Ralph Lauren tag should be in cursive font.  They are sold at higher prices than the non-cursive label shirts.

 

Regent just refers to the collar.  Some Regent collar shirts are cursive label (with MoP buttons and all), but others are not (with plastic buttons).

I thought I'd share a link to a something I just posted about making an organizer for pocket squares. I did it in a fairly "thrifty" way, so I thought it might be appropriate.

The "estate." Around $125-135 as opposed to the regent, which is around $85.
