Hah, my six year old doesn't have clubs. Apparently wants some though, I found him and the next door neighbor kid digging a golf hole under a tree the other day. Then they proceded to use a baseball bat to hit golf balls at it.

As for the "do you tell" question. I tell my friends and family, but it seldom comes up with coworkers. When students ask questions along these lines ("where did you find _____") I usually deflect on suits, shoes, etc., at least early in the semester. On more oddball stuff - cool cuff links or something clearly vintage, I'll say I saw it at a thrift store (even if I actually got it from one of you). Later in the semester, once they've decided who I am, I'm less evasive if they ask, which I've discovered only the thrifters in the class usually are.

As you guys can probably attest, thrifting has grown more of a following and has been more widely acceptible which is why prices have been increasing and more competition arises, im guilty of this peepwall[1].gif

Im not really worried about people starting rumors just dont want people walking into my regular places competing with me lol.

Good call on ebay though.

On a similar note. I am now in full on tux searching mode. Just found out my cousins wedding is Black Tie!

+1. 40R, 34x34 if someone has a peak lapel, dual vented, flat front tux they want to sell. If not I'm probably going to hit up SuitSupply.

No! Don't wash them!

Well, at least not until they smell, which takes a long while.

Side vents. RLBL and SuitSupply have them. I'd much prefer those to ventless or center vent on a tux.

40x30 body type here, not in jeans though but close. It's all about proportions, and I don't want my legs to look like tree trunks. Also, skinny jeans, especially those from Gap, aren't actually all that skinny. If I want slim/tapered legs, I usually go for the slim fit which actually ends up looking like a straight fit from other brands and in other sizes. They arent ankle huggers so it's not exactly what you are thinking.

Unbelievable, and they even sold.../sigh.

Not much today. Picked up a cast iron skillet at the request of my wife, a set of shoe trees (always in need of more).

Then I saw these:

Levi's 501 redline selvedge, ca. 1969. The real deal.

Details! (Click to show)

I'm gonna try and eBay or Etsy these puppies. I wish they fit but that 30x29 tag isn't even close to accurate.

I constanly have a list for other people, and I have great luck fulfilling the orders quickly. My friends have started using this service quite often and are always amazed at how quickly I can find things.

Just these past few months I have found these requested items for others.

  • A pair of Golf Knickers
  • Slide Projector
  • Yogurt Maker
  • Dress for a wedding
  • Patent Leather Tux Shoes (Actually thrifted these on the way to a buddies house, and when I got there, one of my friends asked if I could find some. I went to the car and pulled them out...exactly his size!)
  • Set of Youth Golf Clubs (half way there on this one)
  • Espresso Machine
  • Golf Ball Retriever
  • Sand Wedge
  • Pooper Scooper (the big spring loaded kind you don't have to bend over to use)

36S 1 Button Peak Lapel Tux please, oh yea and 7 or 7.5D Opera Pumps icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Opera pumps are acceptable to a black tie wedding right?
