You couldn't get these at Woolworths or Ben Franklin. That and it was only played on college radio stations and FM back when FM was underground/alternative. You had to be in-the-know to have this stuff. Enjoy - those are great albums!
Gong drives the wife up-the-wall. laugh.gif I have only one of their LPs, "Flying Teapot" from 1973.

I hadn't heard most of those records so I was pretty excited to say the least.

These are great little units. I have one that acts as the entertainment unit for my great big gigantic TV (which essentially acts as a monitor). We do netflix on it, torrents, and all sorts of viideo files with VLC.

Dropped a fair amount of cash on my first woman's pickup. New with some tags (ie no price, but the buttons and some other tags) Dooney and Bourke coat. Shocked by the quality considering the sheer number of their bags I see on campus. Tagged Eu 44 - women's large? Made in Italy, can anyone identify the maker? Also clueless as to what the PA on the content tag is short for. Per usual, I appreciate the wealth of knowledge.

What do I do with this? The back story. (Click to show)
I had found a shirt that I wanted to buy but there was a long line at the only open register. Rather than waste time standing still, I thought I'd keep looking over some racks that I had skipped earlier, hoping the line would go down. I went back to the polo shirts and was flipping through at flank speed when I thought I saw one of those damnable Sean John labels that always make me catch my breath.

I was wrong. (Click to show)

When I say this shirt is minty, I mean that it is snow white and there is absolutely no evidence that it was ever worn other than perhaps it was tried on. There are no tags but the collar is pristine with no evidence of ring or scuffing from facial hair. Armpits are likewise immaculate. It doesn't have any laundry scent either so I'd call it NWOT.

My problem is that I look for Smalls and smallish Mediums and this thing is tagged XL. I tried it on and the shoulders are a bit wider than what I usually wear but the body wasn't as big as I would have expected from an XL. Big yes, but not tent like. Not too long, either. Does Purple Label run small?

I'm considering taking it down to my seamstress and having it slimmed in the waist and just live with the shoulders.

Or should I try to sell it? I looked at the closed auctions on Ebay and they don't seem to bring huge dollars although the BIN prices are outrageous. Honestly, I kopped it with some of you XL guys in mind but I'd be nervous selling it as an XL unless I gave measurements, which I'll gladly do.

Honestly I'd say sell it on here or use it as trading material. RLPL seems really desirable but the shirts, especially polos, just don't bring in $$ on the bay. Not sure why. I seem to average $20-$30. I see really lucky people get $40-$50. Sold a nice aqua one for $13 once. Swore I'd never buy another one but I just can't leave RLPL behind.

I will echo Nataku's sentiment, that will not be worth much on the Bay, 40bucks at best. Use it as trade collateral here.

It is not a crime in my opinion to wear a polo slightly baggy particularly if you have it untucked and just moping about in jeans. Slightly baggy helps in hot weather as well, got to get them cool breezes in there. Keep it and use as beater, or suggest you have this as a trade item and would welcome a nice sport coat or a baller shirt in your size for exchange.

I would be interested in that RLPL polo but I need a true XL and I have a feeling that it probably runs a wee bit on the smaller side.

Well, I AM in the market for a quality brand spread collar white formal shirt in a 16/33, now that you mention it! biggrin.gif

I'll take a pic with it on to give you an idea but I think you might be correct.

Included were records by Spacemen 3, GONG, New York Dolls, Opal, The Growing Concern (which I flipped for $160 and bought a $20 repress of with the proceeds), Mothers of Invention, The Cure, Shadows of Knight, Fever Tree, The Second Coming, the first Nicky Hopkins LP, Dead Moon, The Bonzo Dog Band, Incredible String Band, Ultimate Spinach, Psychadelic Lollipop, Captain Beyond, Captain Beefheart, The Hello People, ,Camel, Badfinger, Spirit, The Seeds, etc etc.

Sorry, I can't figure out how to use the spoiler!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFF,  Spacemen 3 in a thrift is a grail of wild proportions.  I realize there is lots of rare stuff in there, but no record nerd worth his salt would ever get rid of a classic record like that.  Same goes for Trout Mask Replica, but I would assume a person who had purchased that new is dead by now, heh.

Soo...things came up a little bit Italian today:

Borrelli for BG, Luciano Barbera, Borrelli

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Took my first chance on a Robert Talbott product...this one is a super recent, handmade Estate shirt.

Willis and Geiger polo

Cole Haan deck shoes, which I can say with pretty good certainty are made by Quoddy (maybe Eastland) as they are nearly identical to ones I just picked up from the 'Bay.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

All of the above is available for reasonable offers.

The following are cool things for me.

A sick super vintage zip-up wool sweater.  Love the label!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And finally, this XS (!) Gerry anorak.  Tons of details, one small tear on the sleeve that I should be able to patch.  Paid more than usual for it, but it fits amazingly well.
