I also do not begrudge anyone selling,or trying to sell their items at what they think is a fair price, nor do I condemn anyone for trying to get a deal. Everyone knows what the approximate prices paid for the items are, so it is up to the buyer and seller to come up with a price that each can live with. Just my .02...

I've read the whole thread, and followed along for quite a while, still enjoying it between the arguments and petty BS. I really hope folks don't quit posting here for the sake of those of us who aren't as fortunate in the thrift game.

I've learnt so much from so many of the regular posters.

By the way, welcome to SF, and to this thread. You are, of course, welcome to just lurk, but I encourage you to get involved.

As for the constant PMing, I've wondered if we ought to agree to a norm - either things being available unless people say otherwise, or things not being available unless they are explicitly made so. Should we, or should we leave it as it is? (whatever that is???)

Florsheim Imperial Penny Loafer

Nice find, but I think those are recent Imperials which aren't nearly as good of quality as the vintage ones.  Retail would probably be $150ish http://www.florsheim.com/shop/styles/shoes/imperial/page1.html.

I could be completely wrong about this though.

I do not mean to exclude people by any means.  If anyone would like to join, just sign up and PM any member on here.  I don't mean to create a schism within the thread, just a better home.  I undoubtably forgot to PM many, many, contributing members.  This was not a deliberate act, but rather a product of haste, and my ban.  I'm am sorry, and ask you to join in spite of this.

So it sounds like everyone is going to contribute to every, and all, thrift thread — Dappered (or not), Ask Andy, SF, Thrifters Annon, Whatever the Ivy one is, etc.

O.k fellas, I had a great day out in the thick of it today. Here's what I grabbed:
First up, I finally found a quality vintage tripod! This thing has not one piece of plastic on it. Super heavy duty! Made right here in Chicago by Quick-Set. Hopefully my thrift fit pics won't look as shitty anymore.

Ties, L-R, shetland, seal, solid blue wool, dirty old man. N/A

Mint Dobbs 5TH AVE.wool hat. My size so N/A

RL size 0, slim fit oxford cloth for the wife.

Unstructured blue corduroy sport coat with 3 patch pockets from Lands End. My size, so N/A. Should make a nice beater come fall.

I'm not sure this brand has been talked about on this thread before and this is the first time I've come across it. Vintage Dunn & Co in a nice light blue heavy wool. Fits like a glove, lots of pick stitching, fully canvassed and made in Britain. Thoughts?

First piece of Versace I've picked up, mostly because its not gaudy as hell. That and it was only 90 cents.

I found this one in the woman's section. It caught my eye, because a couple weeks ago, I found a vintage Brioni blazer with the same Made In Italy tag. I'm assuming, just like they do now, multiple company's use the same made in Italy tag. No? Anyhow, this thing is tits! Nave blue DB with peak lapels, 60-40 wool, cashmere. Size is marked 40 but fits more like a 38, so I'm keeping for now. No maker tag at all. I've included pics of all the tags and any help in identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

The SICKEST Southwick and for that matter, any brand blazer, I've found in awhile. 3 patch pocket tweed, leather buttons, with the neck latch and a belted back!!!! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Alas, too big for me.Marked a size 42T? Not sure what the T stands for. Available.

Made in the USA LL Bean jacket. Size XL, available.

And then get this, I found this amazing Crouch and Fitzgerald briefcase with my wife's initials ALREADY MONOGRAMMED ONTO IT!!!!! bigstar[1].gif

99 cent Persol sun-glass case...........with the sunglasses inside! Not my style at all and the lenses need to be replaced, but for 99 cents? Fuuuuck it. Available.

Been had some dead guy's entire collection of Turnbull & Asser Bespoke Sea Island Quality shirts, all french cuff, all with mother of pearl buttons.

I left about 10 more because I ran out of cash. happy.gif

Eazy, that is fantastic. Glasses are brilliant. I love the shooting jacket, the shirts, and those ties are cool. Most importantly, your wife is going to love that bag.

Wow! That jacket is definitely made by Brioni. Score!! Those Persols are nice and came with the case to boot! You hit the motherlode of T&A shirts there!!

That Brioni is sick, I guess I ought to start checking the women's section more often...

Ok thrifty bros, i've started law school so its poor timing for you guys to get pics of all the shit I picked up in DFW. 2/3 of a haul is still at friends anyway, but here are a few random pics I snapped of what happened to be in my front seat. when i pull them out the brionis and rlpl will make an appearance at least

Most of the Oxxfords are 40/41R. one is a suit, and the camel colored one is you guessed it camel hair! despos tag for grendel. has anyone else ever seen oxxford sport?

Mind........fucking....blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Nat, I knew that tag looked familiar!!!!! So I guess I'm now the owner of a wool/cashmere Brioni overcoat. Original cost was $8.80 but today it's tag color was half off, so $4.40. That means it had to have been sitting there for at least a week too. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gificon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Also, those T&A shirts are huge, measuring now before my inbox gets blown up.

Yeah I changed my mind.  I went and looked at my recent imperials, and the logo is different.  The op's shoes probably are the better, vintage imperials.
