Last year I was at a Syms (RIP) in Tampa and they were blowing out chucks for $7. I got a gray pair, thinking "man I haven't worn them since I was 14, I wonder if I'd still like them." I do. I get lots of comments on them too, which is peculiar -- they sell so many pairs, they don't seem anything unusual.

I am kicking myself for not cleaning out that joint, there were 4-5 diff pairs in my size and I could have brought some home for you gents, too. I just thought if they were at syms at that price, they "could be had" for that, new, everywhere. Wrong. Cheapest I've seen since has been more than $20 new, usually more. Lesson learned.

Wonder if Spoo has done well enough with Versace goods to buy his old shack.

Wow, Gianni's house is even more gaudy than his clothing. Wouldn't have thought it possible.

I've been to a few parties at the Versace house.

It is . . . opulent.

And by that I mean ridiculously overwrought.

Overwrought? You can't be serious.

Nothing like a 558% jump, criminy. Looks like it'd be one hell of a party house though. And I could shoot Victorias Secret catalogs there from here to eternity without having to worry about decorating the place.

It's currently used as a hotel, from what I gather, so book a room / reserve a ballroom and shoot away!

J Press Gurus

Does this label give any indication of the age of the suit?

It doesn't include the San Francisco location, which shut down around 25 years ago, so it's newer than that, I suspect. Other than that, I'm no help.

Also, I found a rain jacket by Wells today made of some sort of GoreTex clone called Water Pruf, which the label says repels water while maintaining breathability. Exact same notion as GoreTex. Never heard of this before. Left it, but can go back. Should I?
