With all that said, I have very much enjoyed posting here for the last year.  I have seriously learned an immense amount about clothing and all kinds of other cool stuff that I previously knew nothing about, just from posting and browsing in this thread...and I've had a great time shooting the shit with some of the incredibly cool posters here.  I'll probably resume posting a bit over at AAAC under the same username (AndroFan), so feel free to hit me up there if anyone wants to contact me going forward, or if I owe you any residual trading karma.

If someone could do me a favor and quote me in case I'm banned so that peeps can contact me through alternate routes, it'd be much appreciated.

Keep it real dudes, and keep reeling in the big fish.

^^ Feel free to let me know if this type of info is top secret biggrin.gif

They are uneven. I have had highs (gucci, e marinella, hermes ties, BB Loro Piana pants, just awesome) and lows (weeks and weeks of dreck) and I can't recommend the time investment. But when that truck of hot stuff comes in, they're pretty good as long as the pricers are ignorant about brands and just mark up gap/zylos/etc and leave our brands alone. Shoes are outrageously priced, I've found.

OK. After breaking my Hermes cherry last week, I lose my virginity on two other labels after 18 solid months of thrifting...

ridiculous. if you get banned, you get banned, and making a new account doesn't just wipe the slate clean and leave the mods powerless to enforce whatever punishment got handed down under an old account.

True, but there should be some path to redemption possible.

+1 Only time I'll ever say this, but Styleforum could learn a thing or two from Jesus.

Work's started again and thrifting has slowed down (even more than it had), so I haven't read the thread for a couple of days.

@Jpmorris - Looking forward to the pics of your DFW haul!  Anything in your size that you don't want you should send to me immediately.

@Frenchy - Great guitar!  Also, sorry to see you go (though you won't be reading this).  Always excellent hauls.

IN MEMORIUM

Just a few things from today.

The tortoise and hare Hermes is mint, but the one of the far right has some significant fading and staining.  At $2, I couldn't say no.  The silk knit is a no name, but is a great tie to have on hand.  The PRL is NWT and is pretty cool and the Zegna next to it is a Charvet-esqe weave.  More to come later!

^^ Man, so jealous of that first Hermes. I love that thing.

I'm sorry to see Frenchy go. Not only for his larger than life personality but for his furniture knowledge. I had some good luck this week at a SA and picked up part of a 1920's art deco bedroom/boudoir set in birds eye maple. Came with bed frame, night table, chiffoniere and seat. Pics on the weekend. The staff said that a team of 6 guys had stolen 2 matching dressers. Since it's not a complete set we got a great deal. I would have liked to have heard Frenchy's thoughts on it.

A quick stop this evening netted me an (ugly) Boss pinstripe suit for ebay/consignment along with a fantastic Samulesohn SC. Tagged 40R, it seems to fit more like a 42. I'll have to get measurements tomorrow. Double vented. Tagged Super 130s, it's got a really light hand. Second photos is closer to true colour. Need to get some photos in natural light.

If you're interested in giving it a good home, PM me.
