Looks OK to me...I'd put that in my paneled library or map room, if I had one of those rooms.

Zout kopped  - thank you to the folks who shared their recommendation & experiences.  Have a good 20-25 shirts with spots and hoping to save maybe half of them.

Yes, much of the time. Ask your cobbler, but I''ve had them done to new shoes and thrifted ones, and my cobbler says it's a personal choice, some customers do it right away, some wear them down for a time. According to him, only the most killed leather soles can't be topy'd...at least on his bench

Vent: Andrew Fezza is now multplying on thrift store racks in my next of the woods. Can't they set something akin to ant traps to get rid of it?

Can't be bothered multi quoting on my bb.
Dig: :inolve: that lp. Available (he asked, knowing he is already in the man's debt)?

Re jm: I too usually pass. However, the other day I found a pair of diplomats. Must have been vtg, but looked new and minty. Came with the trees for a fiver total. Great shoes, my size and fill a hole.

Hit chi-town solo (because I failed to organize myself sufficiently to arrange a meet-up with easy e. frown.gif sorry, man! But given how little I found, I suspect you've been busy lately!). Found some decent keepers and ebay bait, but nothing worthy of this thread. With just one exception: a pair of ferragamo black tassel slip ons. Size 8d. Vibram sole )with ferragamo on it, so they've not been resoled. Available. Pics... Eventually. .

But you have a map room, right?

Decent shoe finds continue, and hoping for some help with the below.

First, some Alan McAfee wingtips. First pair I've come across. I'm guessing these are prior to Church's buying the brand, but is there any way to know for sure? Also, I'm hoping someone wiser than myself can help decipher the size, which to my eye appears to be 11, I presume in English. Any rate, they're in pretty good shape, albeit the combo heel on right is just beginning to separate, no big deal for any decent cobbler, I suspect. Available.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

And any way to know who made these Italian captoes for Barney's?

I think this tag was put in in Syms stores... They had reputable makers make lower quality versions of their clothes, sold them with the good maker's tags, then (usually) cut the good maker's tags out to make you feel like you were getting a special exclusive deal that the maker's didn't want people to know about. Really the maker's just didn't want their brand name on inferior quality goods.

Personally, I think the "SSSSSSSSS" tag is badass and think jjjjound should do something similar for his pieces.
