I'm happy to say I picked up my sexy beast from the shop today, she's back to purring like a Kiton!

And to celebrate, I grabbed this soft as an angels buttocks, PRL made in Italy (Corneliani) navy with a light blue windowpane sc. 3 button, dual vented and pick stitching at every seam. Size is 40L. Up for trade. Anybody have a madras blazer or a navy DB in a 38?

And this awesome staple charcoal PRL made in the USA SC. 2 button, single vented, with pick stitching all over. Size is marked 36 (Brianpore?)

so I picked up a pair of orphan burberry trousers because I thought they were the match to my orphaned burberry jacket but they ended up being darker does anyone want them? they are a size 32-33 with like a 32-33 inseam and a 1.5 inch cuff, I will just send them to you although I would appreciate some ties and or cufflinks in return. Also I found their matching jacket but didn't pick it up I can pick it up if you want it was about a 41R I would say single vented 1/4 lined 3.5 inch lapels single breasted 2 button ect, anyway here are some pics of the cool fabric

Apparently you say Kiton as "kit" and "on" except stress is on t: Ki-ton
No gimmicks like key- tohn etc. Source: Napolitan tailor who refuses to work on the suit not to mess perfection.

In other news picked up a pair of very good shape gravati loafers and nwt noname US made linen pants, total 14.99 plus tax. Passed two T and A shirts, ugly and expensive, one PINK white shirt, exact fit but I was too lazy to go back and pick after forgetting it, and a Borrelli tie, too wide and expensive for 7 bucks besides I have zillions of stripes. Several smaller coach belts, orphan golden Fleece BB, and several BB suits too big, not worth my 24.99. I also passed Alden for BB loafers for 10 bucks bc needs soles.

I asked my wife as well because she's a fluent Italian speaker. She said that northern Italians will say it slightly different than southern Italians. Her dialekt is from Tuscany and she says it as "Key-Ton" I believe. I could possibly write it in phonetic transcription, but I believe that as long as you fake it you'll be pretty close.

I've always just said kite-in, in one smooth sound but I've never heard anyone else say it before, so thats what I thought it should sound like in my own head. biggrin.gif

I found this Oriali shirt yesterday. It's a little loud.

Sounds like we’re bag to braggin, not bitchin. Good. Here’s my contribution. Sweet week. I think the thrift employees effed up in putting these will all the dregs in the sunglasses shelf. Only 2.96 nod[1].gif I’ve kinda shyed away from buying expensive shades since I lost some Rayban wayfarers back in the day. If I lose these, I’m only out a couple of bux. Not available.

For reference purposes, here are the same Maui Jims new:

Santoni Bit Loafers. Size 10.5. I don’t see a D or an M but they feel like regular width. Made in Italy. Available.

I know there are not a lot of Orvis brand whores here, but I think this leather SC will bring a pretty penny on the bay. Suede bwn leather. Working buttonholes. Mint condition. Won’t put it up till it gets a little colder. Not really a summer coat.

I’ve got a business trip to St. Louis next week. Hope to get in some corn-fed, Midwestern thrift action for at least 1 afternoon (I hope mainy is sick that day).

Ok, for some reason I can't upload pics. Two tie finds after about two weeks of looking (well, maybe not, but that's what it feels like)

Sweet orange Massimo Bizzocchi tie (Go 'cuse!). Didn't this dude run Kiton?

And....

A countryside sporting scene, courtesy of Holland and Holland. I shall wear it with tweed!

Slow day on the boards, eh? Well, I thought I'd get some opinions. I found a leather weekender earlier this week, and I've been working on changing up the color a bit. It was a bit too orange for me, but I don't know if I should take it darker? Also, does anyone know of online companies that sell engraved brass plates? I can probably find a place locally, but maybe it would be just as easy to order it.

Anyway, before...

Another day of mostly non-clothing finds.

- Vintage Elsa Peretti for Tiffany Thumb Print Bowl

- Louis Vuitton candle. Didn't know they made these....

- Recent North Face Nuptse 700 down vest. Sz M

- All Clad Electric Grill. Looks unused, maybe used once/twice.

- Korg Toneworks Digital Rack Tuner DRT-2

Not pictured are a recent NWOT pair of J.Crew board shorts (Needed a pair. Haven't swam in years and it's terribly hot this year) and a Tascam 688 Midi Studio I unloaded at the pawn shop.

Ok, I know this is a stretch, but can anyone help me ID this maker? It's from the footbed of a nearly new pair of vintage wingtips. It was all I could do to see the outine of the logo, but can not make out the words.

From what I can make out, It looks something like this, sorry for the crappy sketch. Hard to tell I was a graphic design major in school huh.

Looks great in my opinion! Has a lot richer color and the texture looks more defined. Enjoy it!
