Found this Zegna Sport XXL made in Romania. Never seen Zegna made there, is it legit?
I carelessly posted this in the Streetwear forum.
Anyhow, a $10 Goodwill purchase for evaluation.
Specs and reasons the jacket could be real/fake3B, winter coat (it's very warm - wore it once on my daily walk to the Walgreens). The jacket has been to a tailor, though God only knows what was done to it. In the pocket, there was a wee plastic bag containing a triangular strip of the shell material, a couple of spare buttons, and a claims ticket. The sleeves both have a substantial vent.
The 'Ordine Est' (00003840) on the slip traces to 'ROTHMAN & ISENBERG INC' via the FTC's website. Importers?
In its favor: The buttons are each etched with 'Gucci' on their sides. There's no outwardly visible logo. This -being a winter coat- would be an odd item to fake. I mean, it's not a purse, a shoe, or sunglasses. XD Lastly, I have reason to believe the donor also donated an Armani Collezioni jacket which I know to be authentic (didn't buy it as moths had eaten a sleeve).
Against it: It's Gucci - possibly the most counterfeited name on the planet. Nowhere on the jacket does it say 'Made in Italy' (or a 'made anywhere', for that matter). There's no store tag (I.e., a 'Barney's' or a 'Saks 5th Ave'). It's a very odd, plush cotton or felt material. It's extremely soft, but (again) odd.
The jacket claims to be Gucci, but is it really? Fair warning, my scans are horrible, but I'll describe with as much detail as possible whatever is asked of me. Notes are appreciated.
Please and thank you to everyone.
@Dave: It is (I have no camera)? Gucci isn't a brand I know much about mostly because I can't find it at Nordstroms (my main haunt for higher-end clothing).
I've heard that most Gucci items have the signature logo rather than the plain font and that they were always made in Italy. This item doesn't say where it's from.
@Bourbon: Alas, I scanned it in the comfort of my home in my pajamas.
..it looks good so far. I have a Gucci suit with the same font
..and for the other comment about the guy getting his tailor to sew in designer labels; that is so very odd...I don't think i'd have the guts to ask my tailor to do that; I'd probably get thrown out of the shop! Why does he get this done? People won't be able to see the label on the inside of the shirt anyways; so who is he trying to fool? Only a hand full of people see the inside of your shirt ever; your tailor, your cleaner, yourself, and possibly your partner if your clothes get tossed carelessly in the heat of the moment; all of whom probably don't care.
Mind you, that didn't prevent her from coming home with a pair of Paul Smith London jeans, that the previous owner had obviously struggled to retain his recently-consumed curry within his bowels.
