Had what I consider a good day. Not Attolini good, but anyway. I can't do pics just yet, but I was excited to grab this stuff.
Things I'm not keeping:
- Zegna Taglia Esclusivo Brown and Navy houndstooth sport coat. Fits like a 40R or small 42R. Tag says it was made in switzerland, and it's all wool. Kind of heavy, too. The pocket stitches aren't even undone on this thing. If AlanC sees this, I read a few posts of his describing the quality of his Zegna TE a while back, so maybe he can reiterate for me.
- Luciano Barbera brown top coat. Made in Italy. It's tagged an EU 52, and I didn't notice any alterations. However, it has cuffed sleeve ends, but that seems done by design, since there is lining directly underneath it. It's also 90% wool and 10% cashmere, really soft stuff. I love that it has flapped patch pockets.
::EDIT:: I literally just noticed some of the stitching is undone near the vent. It's very minor, but I'll include a picture.
-PRL black knit tie with gold horizontal stripes. Made in Italy, according to the tag. I personally don't like square end knit ties, but I know lots of people on here do. The only issue is one stitch holding the PRL tag was no where to be found, so it's on there with one solid stitch.
Things I am keeping:
- First JPress shirt. Green/blue check button-down in my size. Added to the growing collection of trad pieces. It is really nice cotton, made in the US and all.
- Jcrew navy w/ gold geometrics silk tie. I was actually surprised by how nice the silk felt and how well-done the stitching seems to be. According to the tag, it was handmade in the US. It's not as wide as I usually like my ties, but I've got to say I'm a fan. I passed up a red one with blue geometrics that still had the tags on it. Also very nice, I just have too many red ties already.
-JPress suit hangar. Of the two ladies usually at the counter, one let's me take these and the other doesn't. I had to laugh a little, because the lady who doesn't let me take them was just pulling in as I was walking out with it (and she didn't let me grab an oxxford suit hangar the other day, even after I offered to pay for it. First world problems.). I did promise to bring them some hangars, because they said they are hard up for some.
I'll post some pics later.
