^^^ Perhaps you should look for less waist suppression in tandem with shorter jackets.  And instead of flat fronts, look into single or double FORWARD pleats on trousers with a slightly higher rise (11 1/2 - 13" inches at most), and keep your knee and leg opening between 9 and 10".  This should de-emphasize the natural broadness of your shoulders while visually reducing the length of your torso and lengthening the appearance of your legs.

Also, have you considered American sack-style suits.  They can be tailored to have shape.

I actually have an older bbgf suit that I'm probably going to get rid of because it fits me like a trashbag. I find that most Brooks suits are unwearable for me because they're too loose fitting and unflattering on my frame. Love the rest of this advice though about changing the visual perception of my dimensions - thanks a bunch man, I'll definitely try it out in stuff I look for!

Yeah, that's what we thought. Welcome back! Have you found anything (i.e. furniture?) I should send a few pictures because I found a desk but I have no idea!

Frenchy is Frenchy

Fuck I hate when I see 100+ posts and think something has happened and it turns out to be the same damn argument we have here every three months. Also, who the hell is a noob in a community and starts calling people out as fuckers and pussies?

In any case, frenchy returned so I can at least stare at his furniture photos and pretend like I know what I'm looking for next time I'm in the stores, so it was worth reading through all that just to see the return.

Also, still looking for those balmorals, still have that Corneliani I'm looking to basically give away for a favor in the future or sell very cheap to cool new members, and would also like another staple (preferably navy blue) suit in 37/38 R, and a 30W. Get at me.

Etro suit, 40R, not available right now. Thanks to this guy (http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/nigel-branker/23/4a4/905) for not picking it up from the drycleaner. I paid $13.99 for it. It's one of four wearable suits that I've found in over a year of thrifting, so newcomers to this thread shouldn't think that this happens all of the time.

It's also nice to see the thread blow up with a consignment/thrift/we're-all-a-bunch-of-liars debate. It's healthy, and we need it every so often to scare off the trolls. There's no shame in buying stuff from consignment shops, and I wish that we'd get more of those finds on the thread. I've found four pairs of Alden shells, but I've never even seen a Kiton garment in person.

Nice find! Yeah, finding suits that fit you perfectly is a rare thing, but that's why this thread is good. We can find things that fit others and trade / sell for cheap so we all win. I've personally only ever seen one Kiton and it was a shirt at Marshall's for $129. Did not kop 'cause I'm a cheap mofo.

Enough of the dick sabre sword fights and more of the finds please.

OK- now that the dust has settled --for now-- smile.gif  I'll ask again: Can anyone help me with info on this label ?? The google doesn't have much to say on Durmeuill, but it does say something about Dormeuil. This overcoat is super soft - appears to have hand stitching, and is 100 % cashmere. Hmmmm
