As long as its a deal and it's nice enough to fit my needs, ebay sellers are my friend.

How else do you wear the best stuff on a department store budget?

Since this is a finds thread:

Luciano Barbera Tie $3 - Thrift
Two hermes scarves $2.50 each (for my lovely wife) - Thrift
Brioni custom made blue double breasted jacket with working cuffs that fit me perfectly $70 - Ebay
Brioni Cashmere Houndstooth Jacket (NWT) $75 - Jeremy's
Brioni Dress Shirts (NWT) 3@ $30 each - Jeremy's

Didn't work there.

Honestly, eBay buyers(especially for luxury goods) are knowledgable enough to spot discrepancies / marketing talk from miles away. Better off just focus on fully describing your goods.

Yeah, I've given up on that. When I did really purchase something new, like the golf bags I'm selling - I make a point to mention it. Otherwise, I just say it was well taken care of - going by the condition of the item.

OK Guys, I was a little more successful today at the Goodwill near my former home in Hermitage Tn. I found 2 Ventura ties by Tom James, 1 robert Talbott,
2 XMI, and a dunhill . I also found a nice blue 70silk sweater/shirt by Bachrachs

Oh, and the red tags were 50% off today

NICE! I love that dunhill tie. I wish I had such luck at thrifting, my wife seems to find lots of stuff, but I have not had great luck.. a couple of nice sweaters, but never any ties.... maybe one day I will hit the mother lode!

The thrifting gods smiled upon me today:

1 H. Freeman & Sons brown check 3-button suit. Fits great. ($16!)
1 pair of caffeine culture blue jeans ($15)
1 pair of brown 100% leather gloves with cashmere lining inside. Never worn, still stitched together at the wrist. They feel like wearing a little bit of heaven on my hands. $7 bucks

Hook yourself up with some dark grey wool slacks and you'll have an awesome look.

Are any of these ties you'd otherwise buy were they not so cheap? Would you spend...say $15/each for them? I wouldn't wear any of the these ties even if given to me free (just my personal taste).

How amped you are about this pickup gets me wondering how many people contributing to this thread walk around in ill-fitting, dated, worn and/or "ugly" clothing only because it came for cheap from a thrift. If I was presented w/ the tie selection above, I'd pass so as to keep my house clean of clutter and instead spend $40 on one nice Holliday and Brown. Less is more. But again, just my take.
