^not a prob, let me know if they're any other brands you need a little breif on:
zegna ties- depends on the quality you want, Grey label ones are the best but older. the newer ones are thin and way too shiny to be wearable (XXX Ermengildo zegna ) going sideways on the blade.
Good to know. Recently, I've found one NWT. It's very shiny.
however the recent zegna ties that have couture XXX are built alot like the older grey label ones
Vineyard vines ties- only if not made in china
hermes- only if real, spread at wide end, look for loop of string, on non woven: lining should amtch base color of silk, skinny end of tie has hermes, made in france and the call number style number of tie.
woven ties: thick HERMES ` Paris keeper, not just logo
pass if its ugly, i've passed on a few of these, ebay has been flooded with hermes ties recently. so only buy it if it suits you/your needs or the needs of your forum members. if you find something thats ridiculously nice, its common courtesy to offer it here for cost/low price before you go to sell it on the B&S or fleabay or w/e medium you have. Good Karma goes along way in life

I don't know that it's "common courtesy," but it is a nice gesture. I have, however, experienced instances of not having favors returned, which sucks. So, if you do it, do it with the expectation of getting nothing in return down the road, which avoids disappointments. Naming names isn't cool, of course, but let's just say this isn't a land of all butterflies and puppy dogs where Skittles fall from the sky before the rainbow comes out. Most folks, fortunately, are pretty good, though.
Wedding PSA - Please Ignore Otherwise - No Finds Herein
Unfortunadamente, Typhoid's generosity just didn't work out. (For future reference, not his fault at all. Great guy.) So, still being a relatively poor bastard, I am still in the market for a white, spread collar shirt for my wedding.
Things I'm looking for:
- Solid White
- Plain weave
- Spread collar (Think: PRL Regent)
- Must iron**
- Recent BB (Purple label, Golden Fleece, Makers and Merchants)
- PRL Regent, RLPL
You get the idea. Thanks a lot, everyone. Ya'll have been quite nice about this, and I appreciate your patience.
I know, I know. I actually ventured out to the stores today to look for myself, and it's a virtual desert out there (granted, it's Monday, and the vultures take their pickings on Saturday. Plus it's summer).
I have a different one saved that is exactly the same as this. Trust me, I liked the advice!
Etro Linen/flax, double vented summer weight blazer. Ticket pocket! Plaid! Paisley collar with neck latch! 4 button Working surgeon cuffs! Size EU 52!
Brioni 100% Linen which I should have tried on in the store. I thought it was going to fit me, but alas, it's to big as well. Size M
Also passed on a bunch more Brioni and Etro shirts priced at $25.
