+1. I've been on Paypal at least twice a day and think I may haven them siding with me. Contacted the Postal Inspectors and they called me back this morning. She purposefully gave me the zip code to the next town over so it would hop back and forth through processing centers and cause a bit of confusion when you looked at the tracking #. They also talked to the carrier who delivered it and he said the package showed no damage/signs of being tampered with. The buyer will not respond when I ask her "How was it tampered with? What kind of t-shirt was in there? Was the box re-wrapped? Any USPS tape?". Paypal is getting a little suspicious about her when I shared this info with them this morning.

She just had a bullshit story to start with, she has no case, don't worry Nat you are winning this one.

Nat, I hope that everything works out for you. There's just something about a semi-literate woman buying an $800 men's sweater that kinda sounds off to me.

I found these today. They're custom-made Dack's cap-toes, and they almost fit. They came with vintage Dack's shoe trees (which I need). I didn't even know that Dack's had an mtm service, but it looks like they did--and they took it seriously.

I just wanted to take a picture of the construction of this shoe. I've never seen a dress shoe with a 12-13 iron sole...'til I saw this one. Quadruple-stitched everything. I'm trying to stretch it out, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Still, I'm going to give it a week. I've been looking for cap-toes in this colour, and I really don't want to put these on ebay for $15.

Man oh man, two of my places I'd all but stopped going to because they were overpriced and never had anything worthwhile really paid off today. Sorry for the ****** cell phone pics...my camera is acting up for some reason.

Zegna Napoli Couture jacket separate. Amazingly soft but amazingly lightweight. It's hard to tell from the pics, but it's in fantastic condition. Navy with thickish pinstripes. Unvented (which surprised me a bit)...and it fits me, which is amazing since I'm ~42L, and the sleeves tend to be short on me even on the Longs. Tag pic below - can anyone give me an indication of the age based on the tag? Thanks in advance.

Gorgeous Canali 100% cashmere SC. My first Canali find, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Softest feeling thing on earth, really great stuff. Minor issue though - there's something stuck on the front left breast...it's a very little amount, and I can tell that it's some sort of dried liquid that seems like it would pull right off, but I don't want to damage the cashmere fibers by either pulling it off or getting it wet. What's the best way to go about cleaning this? I don't trust my local dry cleaner with such a fine piece, and I'm willing to pay a fair amount for a pro to handle it. Suggestions?

Brioni Sport. I know, it's Brioni "Sport", so not as amazing as the main line, and there's a bit of button chipping, but...well...it's a Brioni, and my first, so I'm ecstatic.

Polo RL tweed SC. Fantastic condition, great looking jacket, and fits me well (though I may need to bring in the body a bit, but the sleeves are usually my primary concern).

This last piece I have no clue about: Kaiser of Greenwich Village, gold button navy blazer. I've been looking for forever for a good condition gold button navy blazer that fits me (again, my freakish size makes this difficult), and this one fits perfectly. It's in great shape and the button details are very cool/in good shape, so I'm happy. Googled them, but I can't find much, so they may not be in existence anymore. Oh well, it looks good, seems well made, and fills a gap I've had in my closet, so I'm happy.

Also picked up some Allen Edmonds Hampsteads in great condition. They're 12EEE's (I'm a 12D-13D typically), but I'm going to give them a few wears to see if they're too wide before I get rid of them. I'm going to give them a polish then add some pics later if I can get my camera working correctly. Pretty good run for 2 stores I'd all but considered dead zones.

That whole Polo sweater incident surprises me. I'd be surprised if Paypal doesn't rule in your favor, and if they don't then they have some serious scam control issues. Its not very difficult to pick out a scammer, and based on the background of your interaction its pretty obvious she was setting up a scam from the start. I'd be shocked if you had to issue a refund, and it shouldn't be your liability in the first place.

Anyways, I'd still like some thoughts on my find I posted a few pages back. My post was held for awhile due to my new status, so I'm guessing people may have missed it.

I came across this blazer the other day. I immediately thought it seemed recent, and it was by far the nicest feeling and looking jacket I had found in a thrift store. I looked at the tag and got really excited as I saw it was Corneliani. It had gray MOP buttons that were in rough shape (bad experience at dry cleaner?), but the jacket itself seemed to be in perfect condition. Unfortunately, when I went to inspect the back of the jacket, my heart sunk as I noticed a decent sized moth hole up by the shoulder. I still bought it because it was only $1.50, and it would have been my best find if it weren't for the hole. Its a bit big on me, but I was thinking about putting money into it to revive it. Do you think it a good purchase, and should I consider sending it to a reweaver? Or is it worth anything on the bay? I hope its not garbage

It's not garbage yet it isn't worth too much. If it doesn't fit you don't pay for a re-weaver.

RE: Loro Piana Cardigan, http://www.styleforum.net/t/9006/th...ount-store-bragging-thread/18465#post_4894255

contactme_11, the measurements are:

shoulders 22"
chest, pit/pit 23.5"
sleeve, from shoulder seam 23"

woolnotmutton, I'm not in ebay so it won't give me access to completed listings.

I searched the current listings and only found one zippered cardigan, it was new and 60% cashmere/40% cotton, and the seller wants $475 which he says is half the list price.
I searched the B/S on this forum and only found 100% cashmere sweaters.

Mine is 100% cotton, and not "new" although it is like new condition, do you think $175 shipped is a fair price for it?

Nice scores! Tear the store apart for the trousers to this suit! Likely dates from 2002-ish.

Thanks! I always instinctively start searching for the pants after I find a jacket separate, but this time I didn't even think of it until I had left the store...I don't know wtf is wrong with me. I think the different layout this store has from my other main stores threw me off (here, the pants are in a completely different part of the store), and I just didn't think of it. I'll try checking out tomorrow after work, but this store has a crazy high turnover, so I may be SOL. Definitely worth a shot though.

Oh, forgot the Polo RL "Benford" shirt. I never thrift casual shirts, but this one was just too cool. The pattern was great, and it's nice and thick...like flannel. I was surprised it was 100% cotton and thought it was wool or something. Good winter shirt.

Ugh. I glanced quickly at your thread in GC on my phone, but Im not 100% sure you're going to come off scot free on this... not to be a party pooper. Im on your side... but from experience (and $1000) of an exact same situation, its not good. Please keep me posted and I am going to go back later on to look at specifics in the thread.

What would happen if you didn't have tracking?
