Since I've got these coming, I'm going to post more shoes tomorrow to make room in my overly stuffed closet. A couple brown pairs if your still looking. I think I have a pair of Florsheim Imperial longwings, and Royal Imperial wingtips that are pretty badass, in your size. I also picked up the boots I've been drooling over for months now, soooooooo.....

I've got a pretty sick vintage Wilson leather bag that has been collecting dust, it's more of a briefcase, but I think it could easily double as a weekender/carry-on.

I went and tried on this exact pair at the Allen Edmunds store on Michigan Ave a couple months ago, they are fucking RAW! MSRP is $385!

+1. Having a CPA do my taxes is the best money I pay every year, if only for peace of mind. One thing I will add: remember that the benefits of itemizing phase out at certain income levels. That is, you can itemize all you want, but income will look like income, even if it is offset by expenses. The good news is, at that point, you're earning a LOT of money.


Hit a few stores today in "celebration" of the house closing being put off. Spent very little, but acquired very little, too. Came back with a nice, recent Zegna shirt and a beat up old Burberry USA made multi-stripe shirt that I may hit with the method or just harvest for MOP buttons. Both temporarily unavailable. I was forced to pass on just a TON of orphans: Corneliani, Pal Zileri reverse orphans, Burberry, etc. In fact, there was one pair of Ascot Chang custom trouser reverse orphans, and an Ascot Chang custom orphan jacket that DIDN'T match even though they were the SAME donor. Scoured the store with no matches to be found.

I also passed on a Pal Zileri white label ("Gruppo Forall"; this is diffusion, right?) blue herringbone suit because the trousers were slightly sheened (on the seat) and it was unvented. Size was tagged 44R, but it fit me at a 42R. Could proxy for someone if you want.

@spoo: No, Nantucket, actually, where most of the wine-festival festivities are taking place, to my knowledge, but we have are going to be coming back in a month to stay at a friend's house near Madaket. Why do you ask, spoo? Perhaps Herr Spoo und Frau Spooin are taking the Spookinder on a little family excursion, ? And, since you might appreciate this, my girlfriend has arranged for a Boston celebrity chef to whip up a celebratory brunch for me at a friend's place, an hour after we get off the boat. If only every weekend were birthday weekend!

Thats awesome... I love Nantucket. Theres a drink, called the Madaket Mystery, or maybe the Madaket Sunrise at the beach bar all the way out there. I got knocked off my rocker from those. Then the donuts at the homemade donut spot... jesus lord those are the best donuts I have ever had...... Enjoy your birthday weekend!

Great looking haul! Even when something like RLPL doesn't fit, it's still a lot of fun to find. In fact, I always assume the awesome thing I find on the rack won't fit, but that it will fit someone here. That logic has also led me to have a pile of various sized clothing in my bedroom.

Nantucket sounds like a great time...nice little party you're having. What's the temperature there this time of the year? Also, are you comfortable with sharing which birthday you're celebrating.

I had no time today to go out and we (myself, wife and dog) are going to the mountains this weekend. We were ambitious when we booked and thought we'd spend the time hiking (it's the highest peak in the region called the Dachstein), but we're burnt out from a full week and will probably end up taking a few pictures and finishing some books. The mountain is between 5-9C and the valley about twice is warm...so it will be chilly.
