I'm just glad more thrifts don't take the time to know what they have. hopefully it'll stay that way for some time.

It's being put through "the method" as we speak, I promise I'll post a thrift fit pic with it before it goes where ever the fuck it is that people wear this kind of thing. Vegas? Who knows.

The Jack Victor is nice and should make a few bucks on ebay no problem!
I thought it might, just for the fact of it being peach colored and summer being right around the corner. If it were a size 38 I'd wear that motherfucker myself.

oh and PSA - i own ZERO pocket squares.  Can someone get one to me (Charlotte, NC) by saturday? Cheers!

Thats pretty good as it is in the first pic - white spread collar, dark chocolate grenadine garza grossa. You can find a PS dude... any macys or anything has one. If not, cut a piece of an old tablecloth linen, and do a puff, not a fold. Nobody will know unless they take it out. (Srs)

I was interested in a suit he thrifted. He actually held onto it for me until he crossed south of the border to save me on shipping, then shipped it before I even sent payment. And the packaging was some of the best I've ever received. As if that's not enough, the suit actually fits perfectly and will require no tailoring. I'm ecstatic. Definitely do business with this guy.

(Will reply to PMs later tonight)

Had this exact problem the other day. Pair of used BB shoes, the Peal Co ones, for $129.99. Pfffffffft, fuck that, I'm out.

But, after a looooong ass search, finally grabbed a BB solid navy in my size. Not a thrift, but Etsy is pretty close. Sack cut and all, which I was hoping for. Probably overpaid for it a bit, but it's been an impossible find for my price range. And to get it in a sack cut? Yeah, had to pull the trigger.

I went to two spots and pulled a bunch of solid Trad gear:

(Let me preface this by saying that BB 346 in the 1950s / 1960s was a respectable line - equal to their mainline in quality, but trimmer in fit.  (50 years before it became known as outlet crap.)

1x vintage 1950s / 1960s Brooks Brothers 346 [WHITE BLOCK LETTERS ON BLACK label] solid navy 3 season staple suit.  Made in USA.  Marked 41 LONG.

1x vintage Brooks Brothers edit: Golden Fleece POW suit.  Made in USA.  Marked 40 REG.

1x vintage 1950s / 1960s Brooks Brothers 346 [WHITE BLOCK LETTERS ON BLACK label] dark brown flat front wool slacks w/ cuffs.  Made in USA.  36 x 32 or so.

1x vintage J. Press white dress shirt with flap pocket on chest.  Made in USA.  16 1/2 x 34.

1x vintage pair of LL Bean "blucher style" shoes from their 1989 University Lounger line - they're like camp moc's with a hard leather sole.  Made in USA.  12 D.

^ Not an actual photograph - I just pulled this one off the web.  The ones I found are in pretty much the same condition.

and a pair of Zanella flat fronts in light / mid brown.  Made in Italy.  Marked 38.

Pic's to come after cleaning, pressing, polishing, etc.

Whew. Been away on vacation all weekend with my wonderful but not at all a fan of thrifting girlfriend, so I haven't been checking in much with this thread (although she did go WHAT?! when I told her some guy was selling a pair of shoes for $2,000). Finally caught up.

First time in a long time visiting the U.S., and barring a few quirks (seriously... what's with all the flags? Do people forget what country they're in?), it was delightful.

Very nice to meet grendel, however briefly. Hope you enjoy the tie, and good luck finding the HF tux pants.

Also, big props to mainy for the awesome Polo sport coat, and to GMMcL for that amazing briefcase, which I had in my possession a full day before the Globe & Mail's Style section declared "retro-inspired briefcases" to be an essential item this spring. And a big thanks to 330CK for all the kind words.

Now then, going to the U.S. meant hitting the Niagara outlets, which was almost a complete waste of time until I found this little beauty on the clearance rack at Saks Off Fifth...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Been had RLPL... $30 summer shirt

Back to the thrifting grind shortly.
