I did manage to score a CT shirt complete with CT collar stays in my size. The pattern is a bit dated but the fit is amazing. My first encounter with CT and it looks like I might be forced to go out and buy some at retail. Amazing quality, amazing fit.

Oh, well. Maybe next week will be better.

Perhaps the nicest tie I've ever found in a thrift store, save for the 7-fold Robert Talbott tie I got once, was a gold Charles Tyrwhitt tie. Beautiful, heavy silk but unacceptable fraying and fuzz around the edges, so I left it.

Today I found an incredible collection of Hermes ties for $3 a piece and ended up leaving the store with 17 new/old ties... upon inspection they appear real however some have stains that are only noticable if you look really close in bright lighting. How badly should this affect the resale price and is there any source/someone that can price each one up for me?... will post pics soon

--Brooks Brothers olive corduroy jacket, 3/2 sack
--Brooks Brothers gray flannel suit, three piece
--Brooks Brothers gray glen plaid suit
--Brooks Brothers gray herringbone suit
--Brooks Brothers olive poplin suit, 2-button sack, wash and wear
--Brooks Brothers tan poplin suit, 2-button sack, wash and wear

All my size. Natural shoulders, 2" cuffs, swelled edges, 2-button sleeves, and other trad details abound.

:slayer:

As for the stains, try a spot-cleaning at a good dry cleaner.

Nice!

Now , tie stains ... spot cleaning with pure isopropyl alcohol usually works well. Just dab a little on a cloth and then dab the cloth on the stain. Avoid rubbing if you can. It might take a few attempts to remove, but I've removed all sorts of crazy-ass stains from ties using this method with great success. :slayer: Perhaps try on the worst affected tie first?

I'll be putting some CT shirts on B&S soon. Size 17.5.

BTW if the Pink shirt is in really good nick it might be worth grabbing it and shortening the sleeves.

Resale value should be about $6-$7, which is great because you easily double your money! How great is that. But you can only sell them to people who's user names have the word Spoo in them.
