(I had to buy the BB Makers tie in order to get the price tag to $4, which is apparently close enough to the $5 minimum on credit card purchases.)

I've only ever found one 7 Fold here too. It was a Robert Talbot and ugly enough to wipe my dogs ass with.

Yeah, I think this hits all the requirements: cheap, semi-kinda rare, mint condish and extremely wearable.

Nice find! The only 7 folds I've ever found (in over a year of thrifting) have been Paul Fredrick ties so a Charles Tyrwhitt is not to shabby at all. fing02[1].gif

Me too; I'd only been thrifting for 3 or 4 months when I found it and it was an ugly-as-shit Talbott tie in some random non-chain thrift shop. I wonder if I have a picture somewhere...

Also, cross-posting from the SW&D WAYWT thread:
549

Banana Republic, $12 at Buffalo Exchange
Dockers D1, $12 at Marshalls
Allen Edmonds, $8 at Goodwill.
Vostok watch, $35 from eBay

Rounded up a pic of my only 7 Fold find. Told you it was ugly. The only thing it had going for it was that it was numbered 19 of 40.

Seems I have a habit of only finding the good ties in the ugly models...see below my only Hermes find.

I would imagine that is fairly standard in all of thrift shopping, people are much likely to donate ugly models than the best iterations of high quality goods

smart man.

...ANNNND the best iterations of high quality goods that ARE donated are the first to get snatched up by others, making it less likely they'll be there when we walk in the store.

Was by the BB outlet this weekend so I decided to pop in for kicks and giggles. Usually the only thing they have are "346" outlet clothing, shoes and accessories which was no different this time. However, when I went to the final clearance box by the register, I came across some really well made ties. Flipped them over and...

And picked this up for me, kind of funny because it was cheaper than thrift prices for BB ties around here.

I've encountered quite a bit of RT 7 folds and always have good luck selling them on ebay.....usually get around $40 - $50 no matter how ugly they are as there are people who collect them out there.

all that's left for me most of the time (I did find a Burberry's 7 fold, once, in blue) in the thrifts in high end ties are brown ones. So many Brown ones.
