eBay is still turning up better stuff for me than the local thrifting scene; I picked up a hardly worn Davies & Son SB suit in grey flannel for ~$18 shipped. Only the pants need alteration, the jacket is dead-on perfect.

So today I hit pay dirt.

Vman are you listening, get over to Gurnee thrift.

They got a huge shipment of pants and jackets. There were 4 MTM Dunhill blazers/jackets, I picked up the two blue blazers, one was 100% cashmere DB, the other was a basic two button sb blazer with horn buttons. Both fit fairly well, I made some mods to the DB, which fits well now. Both obviously full canvass, both made in Italy.

Cost...$28.00 for both, the cashmere was completely new, the pockets were still sewn shut.
There was a grey herringbone blazer that was 60% cash, 40% silk, with ticket pockets, I would have bought it, but I am not a flipper and it didnt fit me.

There was also a tan cashmere blazer. All Dunhill. Not sure who makes them, but the two I bought were full of handwork and super beautiful!

Oh, Vman, this is over where the sweaters are normally, they cleared room for all of the blazers, they are in the far right side looking at the racks.

Had some luck today - found a pair of Church's black wingtips in my size for $4. Also found a beautiful newer Hickey Freeman Boardroom navy pinstripe suit (40L) for $12.

Where did you find the Churches? I was beginning to think that no one in Pittsburgh had ever bought English made shoes. Well, except for that one pair. Seriously, I never run across EG, Church, C&J or any other English shoes. Nice finds.

I sent you a PM. They weren't in the best shape, but for $4 and given that they were my size, why not? If I can ever figure out my digital camera, I'll post photos.

Apparently not, as he tossed them unworn. Maybe he though, 'I live in Pittsburgh--I can't wear these!'

The only pair of English shoes I've ever found thrifting are some Grenson Masterpiece loafers.

I've seen a pair of Church's, but they were in the thrift for a reason.

Popped into a Goodwill in the hood looking for a last-minute Halloween costume. Didn't find anything for the costume, but snagged a couple RLPL shirts, Brioni shirts, Talbott BoC shirt, and Zanella trousers.

I picked up a pair of beautiful cordovan color wingtips by a company I didn't recognize. Has anyone heard of Harris Tweed? The interior sole states that they're "Benchgrade" and "Made in England." There is additional information on the interior side, including the Last number, and size, and additional writing which I can post, if needed. Here is an admittedly bad photo of the interior of the shoe. Does anyone recognize this brand?

They are Churchs shoes branded as "Royal Tweed".

I'm mot sure how Royal Tweed relates to Churchs in the pecking order, but they are definitely a Churchs shoe.
