STRUCTURE! Thanks for this...it was driving me crazy. I like totally forget from whence my hatred stems...possibly from their trademark blurry plaid (making you feel like you'd just been dosed at lolapallooza or something), or the fact they were owned by The Limited, where as the sole male employee I was teased almost daily by all the brutal MILFs who'd wander-in (why, why did I have morals back then? I shake my fifteen year-old self! You fool!). Structure...bleh.

I want that Tintin tie. So epic. drool.gif

New town, new thrift shops.  Found an old Brooks Borthers Tie.  Does anyone have a chronology on the tie labels?  I've seen the great OCBD tag thread some place, but was curious if the same had been developed for ties. Sorry about the horrid photos.  Phone + hotel room = bad photos.  Also found a Faccionable tie someone had decided to rip apart for dental floss (also just an ugly design), and a HickeyFreeman orphan with ginormous lapels.  PS, Men of Bozeman Montana, you're slobs!  The shirts in every thrift were just nasty.  Men my size (18" collar, 46L suit): Why do you all have T-Rex short arms?  What kind of freak show have I walked into?

Unfortunately.  I think that most of the crazy pattern stuff was Armani, not Versace, but maybe a couple of them were Versace.  A lot of them looked like silk print button-ups, but when I checked the tag they were rayon or some other blend. I honestly don't know how I would describe them, just lots of colors and crazy patterns.  All I could think while looking through everything is that anyone wearing this stuff would only fit in at a runway show.  Other than the dress shirts and sweats, everything was completely unique.  There would be shorts with weird pockets and leather patches everywhere, jackets like no other ones I've ever seen, and all sorts of crazy shit.  I just kept pulling things out, showing my girlfriend and saying "what the fuck is this?"

The Versace stuff that I remember was a few standard dress shirts, a very unique wool cardigan, another wool sweater, and a couple pairs of shorts I think.

I had to travel between offices today. So I, er. left plenty of time for travel (read: Hauled ass between as many thrifts as I could to still get to my meeting on time).

Luckily, one of the nicer places I go to was doing a 50% blowout, and the other had marked stuff down for a blowout fundraiser. I'm WAY too exhausted for pics (plus owe Samuel Smith pics on some other stuff), so you folks will have to settle for a teaser for a couple of days:

Oxxford DB gray wide pin 44R, Balmoral model (pleated trousers, 6 on 2 buttoning, arranged properly (the two fastening are directly above one another, with the non-fastening slightly wider))
Belvest DB navy tight chalk stripe, 48R, double vents (nod[1].gif), TRIPLE pleated (ffffuuuu.gif). 6 on 2 buttoning, properly arranged.
Belvest DB solid charcoal, 46R, unvented, double pleats. 6 on 2 buttoning, properly arranged.
Oxxford Owentsia SB gray herringbone, 40R. Single vent, double pleat.
Royal Tweed (by Church's) black wingtips, 8.5. Need a good soaking in conditioner, but may end up serviceable
Killer leather suitcase by Wilson's (?) (no strap ffffuuuu.gif)
1 cedar shoe tree

EDIT: The two Belvest and the Oxxford herringbone were Super 100s.

The clothes and shoes will be available as they are not my size. There are some handsewn seams on the Belvests that need attention, but nothing major. The Owentsia trousers, however, were larvae bait. Chewed extensively. I went to put it back, but she only charged me a few bucks for the jacket and threw in the trousers free. How do you say no to that?

What I left:
A KILLER BB purple label (USA made) windowpane shirt in a cool maroon and gray, cutaway collar. 15.5 neck. They wanted something like $20, and wouldn't even give me the 50%. So I passed. If anyone wants a proxy (unlikely at those prices, but figured I'd ask) lemme know.
A Structure blazer.

Not unless you consider $3 per item retail....

Well there are quite a few things I haven't posted from over the last month... so I'm ready satisfied.gif

However, I think thrift thread veterans are probably more deserving of that post.

Purple Label BB is the Luxury Line = more $$$, Thick MOP buttons, Double Buttons Cuffs, Single Needle Stitching, Better Fabric, etc.Not worth the $20 + shipping in a thrift store, but $10 would be boarder line pick up as a nice gesture for someone here. I have a few and they are nice quality shirts.

Alexander Julian. I got it a while back at Value Village (Savers). I think it was about $12.99 (CAD).

Anybody have any idea what year it's from?

Sweet Jesus, here we go again! The only question is, will Ebay force me to take the return (Yes, no doubt), and what will I actually get back in the mail. God I hate that website

Owch! Good luck, Mainy. I hate eBay more and more everyday. Sadly I have to now rely on it to pay bills.

Wow! Finding Tom Ford anything is on a completely different level. I LOVE Tintin. Have ever since I was a kid. I'd be all over that tie if I did wear ties. Awesome find!

Tomorrow morning I'll be on a plane headed California way.

Paypal Rant

The day after I sell a cell phone (razr maxx - $495) paypal does a "random" screening on my account, and puts my account on hold. I cannot believe they have the power to freeze my account for no reason. I did not drain the account suddenly, I merely sold an item through ebay! Ugh, I need to start using google checkout. ffffuuuu.gifffffuuuu.gifffffuuuu.gif
