The official thrift/discount store bragging thread - Page 1915

Regarding thrift stores in the UK.
I have visited maybe 30-40 while on vacations. I almost always find something I need. No high value items.
The charity shops are often FULL of ties.
My best finds. Again no high value items, but great stuff for my wardrobe:
Many made in England silk repp ties from unknown brands.
Harris Tweed coats, hats, ties, sport coats,....
Marks and Spencer made in England coats, sweaters, pants,... Some of the pants have a nice modern/slim fit.
Made in Europe cufflinks and tie clips.
Fred Perry and Ben Sherman shirts, sweaters, and pants.
Rare sizes: 38XL, 40XL, Medium+2(Medium Tall with longer sleeves),...

Wondering if I ran into one of you guys yesterday, or if it was a flipper. Dude had a cart full of shirts and on top was an Eton. Asked him if it was his cart (hoping it was a cart that an employee was using to put out shirts), but it was his. So we had a talk about high end menswear for a minute or so. This would have been a good time to have a SF tie clip or something. Anyway, picked up the orange Brioni tie yesterday as well, the other Brionis were picked up recently as well:

I considered polishing shoes pantsless, but figured I would be questioned by my wife about the brown stains on my legs. Lol

Recent Zegna 80 cashmere/20 linen in EU52. I think I just need to have the sleeves shortened and waist redueced. I want to keep it for myself, unless there is an offer that I cannot resist icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I hit one of my secret stores one hour before it closes today and scored the following, all in my size and fits perfectly!
Two Correll & Co linen/silk/wool sportcoats in different color. They are made in US, and I remember there is some discussion about the maker for this tag of Correll & Co jackets in somewhere in StyleForum, but I cannot remember. Does anyone has some information about the maker?

Correll & Co pure cashmere sportcoat, made in Italy. Anyone recognize the maker?

Paul Stuart pure camelhair sportcoat. I found two holes on the sleeves. I think I am going to return it to the store for store credit. But I can sell it for $30 shipped in case anyone want to have it rewoven.

Two more Paul Stuart sportcoats. Do you guys think the lapels are way too wide?

Finally nice ties! I forgot to take the photo of a Ferragamo tie. The Santoni (wow.gif) tie is a 7 fold.

I won't usually buy the Correll & Co and the Paul Stuart sportcoats, as they are not really special enough. But it is quite rare they they fit so nicely...
I left quite a few Correll & Co made by Hickey Freeman sportcoats in 44 to 48 and a few more RT Best Class ties. If anyone is interested I can proxy for near cost. Since I only had one hour, I just checked the ties and the jackets/suits. I will go there to check the rest of the store tomorrow./SPOILER]

Wait, you pass up Paul Stuart and Carroll & Co stuff?!? If I find any recent Paul Stuart items it's a great day for me. Carroll & Co's Made in England stuff is made by Chester Barrie. Really well made.

Damn, man, your consistency with once-in-a-lifetime finds is amazing. Like, to the point it's almost bordering on the unbelievable. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif
