I went back to pick up the Burberry khakis (no size tag; still need to measure, but they seem big), and I picked up another pair of HF pants from the same donor.

The tags on the HFs are:

MFG# 6809      16

MDL J832S       36 REG

(the ones seen above)

MFG# 2855          4

MDL H832S       36 REG

Any help identifying these?

OK I like you already. I have not been in Sweden since, uhm, suffice it to say that when I was 19-20. I doubt things have changed. So I kindly ask you to take your pics with random ladies that you have met on the street who are kind enough to smile to a bunch of thrifting geeks. You will get a whole lotta love in this forum. Cheers.

None of either in my stash at this time, but who know's....maybe tomorrow. I've run across plenty of each.

I would gladly provide pictures of pretty Swedish ladies. Sadly though (or well, guess that depends on how you see it) I'm heading to the US for three months on Monday. My mission?

To ravage all Goodwills I can find. ffffuuuu.gif

Still, this just means that I'll be back home early June, which is prime time for very very pleasant ladies to make their way out in the sun, dressed in the most skimpy outfits they could possibly find during the long cold winter.

Been traveling for the past few days, and in one of my stops decided to check out a foreign area (and state) Marshalls. Didn't find a $300 Brioni Tux a la last week, but came pretty close for about the same amount of dough.

- Brooks Brothers Solid navy blazer. Perfect, my size. Side vents. Reduced to $130 from $300, and I convinced them to drop the price again to $80 since one of the buttons was missing - even though I later found them inside the breast pocket. (Guys, you can negotiate prices at Marshalls if there are slight condition issues....this has worked wonders for me)

-Another Brooks Brothers SC marked for super-discount ($39)

- Polo Made in Italy lambswool SC - $80

- Brioni charcoal silk-knit tie. Priced on markdown at $39. Again, I convinced them to cut the price in half due to a few pulls which were ON THE BACK OF THE TIE.

- A couple pieces of ebay "currency" at $29 each. biggrin.gif

I am seriously loving Marshalls lately. Although I have to stop and sell some of this stuff or else I won't have any thrifting funds left.

Hello everyone! After skulking around Styleforum (and this thread) for a few weeks now, I thought I should probably sign up. With the help of the great advice given here I've gone from absolutely clueless to only generally clueless in about a month, so thanks!

I've tried to concertedly peruse my local charity shops (I'm from the UK; no competition!) for a couple of weeks now, and hoped to start with something of a bang, so I humbly submit...

Now I've not been doing this very long, but a RLPL 100% Cashmere overcoat is pretty good, right?

I do have some questions to ask of your immense collective expertise though:

-Does the 'Customer' number mean it's bespoke, made to measure, or just a standard thing?

-Why does it refer to a jacket and trousers, when it's plainly an overcoat? Part of a set?

-Does anyone know anything about this particular model, labelled 'Paddock'?

Sorry for the general cluelessness...

Now for the downside: the condition isn't great.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

As you can see, the lining is badly coming away from the outer at the bottom of the coat and top of the vent, the armpit is badly worn and there are a few little nicks like the one shown there.

Now this a 44 coat, and I take 36, so I only got it to actually see something high quality up close. I therefore suppose that I'll either try to resell it or return it to the shop...

So yet more beginners questions, but...

-Could the damage be fixed?

-Does it completely destroy the value of the coat?

Many thanks, and hi again!

Nataku and I were floating around some thrift stores this morning but then decided to hit some high-end discount shops. To my surprise a very sharp pair of New "Rag & Bone by Timberland Boot Company" Boots. The boots are crazy nice. They have sweet Vibram soles. They are a size 11 M. The leather/suede is flawless. They aren't my size unfortunately but I couldn't let that kind of quality go to a flipper lady. They are Available :) If anyone wants to find these puppies a new home PM me :)

Ok so I misspoke earlier. This Hicks and Sons is not Savile Row. It is Sackville Street which is 1/2 block from Saville Row. So I was pretty close...globally speaking.

3 Button, Ticket Pocket, Lapel Button Thread, Surgeon Cuffs, Double Vent. About a 40S...see measurements.

This is not a thrift find peepwall[1].gif...but I'm bragging as it was discount on ebay and my size which is close to impossible to find (not as impossible as it use to be thanks to all of you guys!!! worship.gif, but still hard). Scooped these all up on ebay for $$$ (more then I would like to spend, but they appear to be quality items in good condition in my size). I was pretty sure the "XXXX" in the two pair of Zegna (made my Incotex) where the high quality couture line, correct me if I'm wrong and they look pretty recent?

Duffle Coat for J. Crew. I assumed it was by Gloverall, but there is no Gloverall label, so I am only 99% sure. Based on quality of construction alone, there is little doubt.

Size Large.
