Xenos, you're on a roll! Nice find on the Isaia! Hope this means they'll be popping out of the woodwork everywhere and I can manage to grab one! Last time I was at my tailor, there were 4 brand new Isaia suits on the "to do" rack, so I know people buy them! Wonder if they ever donate them, though.

Haven't heard of it, but I'm sure others will chime in. I would just look at the blazer and see how it was made i.e. fully canvassed, handmade button holes, pick stitching, hand sewn buttons, working cuffs... and so on.

I read through this whole site which lets you evaluate anything you come across in the thrifts.

Picked up a sharp gray herringbone wool topcoat at the thrift store today. Label inside reads "Raleighs" all in caps and "made in canada" Anyone ever heard of them? Looks to be fairly recent and in excellent condition. with the exception of one tiny hole on the front that I saw on the front as I was walking out. I took it to the dry cleaners right away in case there might be some moths inside there....

Funny story, while I was browsing the store, I saw another guy who looked like a potential SF member lurking about. Nice shoes, pocket square, all the signifiers. (He and I stood out like sore thumbs in the sea of Tweety Bird jackets and sweatpants). After I picked up a coat, tried it on and left it to go to another section, he beelined it right over there and tried it on after me. He seemed to be following me all over the store. I don't know if he was a **** or just wanted my rejects, but it was amusing anyway.

Thrift Store Mysteries!

lol, wut? Christian Dior x HSM? Can someone explain this?

Also, here's a close-up of an unmarked blazer that looks and feels like linen to me, or possibly linen/cotton blend. Does that seem consistent w/ the photo?

I left this hanging on the rack at Goodwill, today. Was I wrong? The sleeves were ridiculously short. The true color was a pale green, seen best in the inside of the collar neck area.

(Bemused that this is how I spend my Fridays.) Most of these items didn't fit me, but would any be worth flipping?

I did buy a Pavone tie , some Gaojixiku (?) pants and this Gitman Bros shirt. The sleeves are right on the edge. Do y'all think they're too short?

Extremely meh today. Just some ties - Zegna Couture, Valentino and Michaelsons - and a nice hand-rolled pocket square.

Does anyone know anything about Michaelsons? I've not heard of them.

Saw a lot of unusual stuff (for here) that I passed on: Florsheim Royal Imperials, RRL, a stash of Ascot Chang shirts, J&M shoes, Ungaro blazer. etc

Why did you do that? Great shoes if they fit, easy sell if they don't.

Keep the shirt, it fits sufficiently well elsewhere that even if you wear it under a sweater you did well. I don't care for the tie, but that Lanvin sweater is great (IMHO). Other than that, without an indication of pricing on the other items I don't think you'd have made much on any of them.

My first real find. A beautiful Zegna knit silk tie. I´m in a city on the Norwegian west coast (well, most of Norway is west coast), and I´ve never seen Zegna here before. Success!

Price?

50 cent.

Thanks for the reply. If the Lanvin is still there the next time I go there, I'll pick it up and let you know the measurements. I don't remember what it cost, but it had to be <$10.
