Haha, thanks man!  It's quite a beaut - glad to help you fill a gap!

This was probably my biggest lesson on here. Not everything needs to make its way out, especially if you're keeping it. I will say it is nice to see what people pick up, but for trade and purchase purposes. Much easier here than shifting through B&S.

Fair enough...

I have a buddy who had a glass of Pappy Van Winkle in a bar last year, and now swears all other bourbon is "crap."  YoungAmerican's tone reminded me of this guy.  I like Pappy, but I drink a ton of Wild Turkey, and if I go to a bar that is serving 10 cent shots of Wild Turkey, I'm gonna brag about it.

Finally an analogy this bourbon drinker can totally relate with. snork[1].gif

I think the title should really read "The Official Thrift/Discount Store Bragging Thread not including YSL/Dior"

I found this Brooks Brothers custom made suit a couple of weeks ago. It has now been adjusted to fit me as closely as possible.

$15 for the suit and $40 in tailoring. It should have been closer to $100 but she looks out for me. I highly recommend tipping and gifts to form a relationship with the person you go to to have your clothing altered. Also, send family members for fittings as well.

I think what people are complaining about is that every bar in town is serving 10 cent shots of Wild Turkey, but folks are bragging anyway. Great buy, yes. Flippable, probably so. Brag-worthy? Not when it's that common.

(By the way, the bourbon analogy didn't quite make it all the way through. I'm sure if I'd had more bourbon it would have been more artfully constructed.)

If you're looking for Southwick, I literally saw 9 jackets, some paired up with pants, at the Goodwill by me. The pants shouldn't be too hard to find, right?

Does Goodwill usually adjust prices if you find tears in suit linings? They want $50 for a Southwick suit that has tears in the armpit lining.

Wow! That fit looks really good. Is that one of the online tailored or MTM?

I found a pair of velour Brioni pants the other day. They feel like a combination of baby ass and cumulus cloud.

I came across these at the Goodwill on Beverly, just east of Fairfax if anyone in Los Angeles is interested in grabbing them:

Vintage (?) Abercrombie & Fitch official Navy Overcoat. $40. The A&F tag looks 80s? Sorry, didn't see a size, but it may as well have been new. I left it on the suit rack, up against the wall, next to the changing room. See last photo.

Brooks Bros wool herringbone overcoat. $10. probably a 36 as it fit me great. Nothing I'd wear though, so...Really good condition. No holes.

Went out with jkidd on Saturday, was interesting as always to talk about stuff and check stuff out. He scored a sweet Nutter shirt and a few other things, and I got these:

Brianpore and guys who need smaller shirts. The Nutter is a 38/15. French Blue with french cuffs. Spread collar. Only issue I can see, is the forint edge f the collar upon looking at it looks like it's worn down. However when you look at it closely there is no wear on the material. If there is any interest shoot me a PM.

I also have a pair of 34 Waist Filson Flat Front khakis and a pair of Bills M1 36 waist.

$66 is a great deal for those shoes. If someone wears that size, they should grab those!
