Also, today I found this T&A sport coat/suit jacket with pick stitching and ticket pocket. Shame the sleeves are so short. Its like 3" too short and only has 1.5" to let out. Grrr...

What size is the jacket?

Its marked 52 (EU) (so like 40/41) Regular, Drop 7. But the sleeves really are short. They're 23", shoulder to cuff. And doesn't look like you can lengthen them at all actually. The spare fabric falls away when you get around to the buttons. I got an idea. Short sleeve sport coats. For maximum sprez.

Well, if the jacket itself were a 52C, it would fit me. Yes, ahem, the sleeves, too. But a regular is too long, unf., I'm 5'7" on a good day.

Scored my first Sulka tie yesterday. It's a bit narrow for my taste so I'll offer it as trade bait.

I also bought my first piece of vintage audio equipment. Yamaha T-760 AM/FM tuner. Sold new in 1981 for $285.00. Audiogon rates the avg retail on it now at $60 so I'm happy. It also looks real cool

Also, the tag is made of the same silk as the tie with Zegna woven in the fabric itself.

If I saw this I'd think some high-end tailor/store was making ties with Zegna fabrics, though I'm not sure if Zegna does silks...

Either way, that's a beautiful tie.

A bust today. stopped at a place on the way home from work, passed on:

- A tailored by Nordstrom's Joseph Aboud Blue Loro Piana fabris suit. The color was nice and fit was pretty good, but not much hand work and fused. Was really tempted to pick this up because of the fit/color and the Loro Piana, thoughts?

- BB gray suit, size 41. Pretty nice but very big lapels made it look odd

- Older Drake's tie, navy with red pattern. Seemed wide

- Zegna, Zanella, Facconable, Armani, Valentino dress shirts.

Guys

I really messed up. I accidentally bid on an item on ebay but I thought I was bidding on somethng else. Conclusion? I won the WRONG item!!
laugh.gif

What do I do? Honestly, I dont want it but I was looking at it to see what it would get so I could compare to the same item I have if I put it on ebay.

Cheers

^You can ask the seller if he will agree to cancel the auction agreement to buy, maybe offer to cover his costs. Otherwise just resell it.

You can ask the seller to let you out of the deal but if he won't, you need to complete the sale. If you don't want it, relist it and cut your losses.

Thank you.

I cannot believe I made this error. I contacted the seller apologizing for my behavior and I hope he/she will understand. I also said I would pay for the fees

Cheers

back in the day, you could just not pay and get a strike. Not the most moral solution, but a choice. I would probably try and contact the seller and just pass a few bucks to not get the item. The only fee there should be is the listing fee.

Daffy's FTW! I realize it's not a thrift store per se, but whoa I made out, and likely, in terms of after-tailoring costs, much better than from true thrift store. All pants, all in my size: Mabitex x 10 Incotex x 1 Zegna X 3 [they'd torn the tags out, but if you looked closely enough you could find the imprint here and there] Indochino x 3 ["manufactured in Incotex factories" dunno what the deal with that is] PRL x 1 Cost, on average came out to just about $22 per pair. None will need any alterations beyond hemming. Someone (read: Put This On perhaps?? HINT HINT) needs to explain in depth the economics of these types of closeout stores. I am a size 32, a common size. I can understand why I can find a lot of stuff at sample sales, but why should I be finding retailed Mabitex etc for $15 a piece?!
