Nataku- Thanks for the relieving info! Your right about the color. Even the pull cords inside and at the waist are great shade of blue. If I do part with the Himalayan (I'm sure I will because I'm holding onto to much as it is) its gonna go your way.

On to the suits / sportcoats... First another Harris Tweed, then...

But first... If I'd stopped with this I would have missed out on my 2nd favorite find of the day... A blackwatch Pendleton sportcoat, size 44 but it fits like a 42 (close enough)... seems unworn

Ok, finally took some pics...

Brioni.  Like I said, it's more likely than not an orphan (toscano_adottato told me that their "Traiano" line is all suits, plus it has a drop number, so that seems right).  The smudge on the lapel isn't a stain..it's just water I got on the lapel right before taking the pic, then proceeded to try to wipe of, thus making it worse, lol.  There are a few light spots on the lapels, but they're nothing major and I'm confident they'd come off with spot cleaning.

Battistoni.  Looking at it again, it's possible it is an orphan, but even if so, it definitely works as an SC, IMO.  Lots of handiwork.

Recent (content tag says Fall 2004) Brooks Brothers navy blazer with really cool enamel buttons with the BB logo.  LP Super 130s fabric, very nice looking blazer.  Very oddly, someone removed the BB breast badge, so the only indication that it's BB is buttons.

Ok, this one is a big question mark: Cassidy navy gold button blazer.  It's definitely vintage though I don't know how old, but it seems really well made and is very nice.  It's got all of the hallmarks of quality: hand sewn lapels, pick stitching throughout, heavy fabric, etc., but I can't find anything at all about the brand in a google search.  Can anyone in the know help a brotha out?

Hickey Freeman cream houndstooth blazer with gold overcheck.  This thing is absolutely gorgeous in person; the check really pops against the beautiful cream houndstooth pattern.  I think the pattern is awesome looking; very nice jacket.  Also incredibly soft to the touch (55% silk/45% wool blend).  I think it's directly from Nordstroms (based on the red line through Nordstroms and the overall condition).

Pendleton tweed SC.  I got this because I thought it was cool as hell...I didn't even know Pendleton made jackets (also found some Pendleton pants that I left the same day, and I didn't know that they made pants either, haha).  It's close to working for me, but I'm a bit worried it might be too short.  I'm going to take it to my tailor to see if she can even bring it in enough to make it work for me (it's a 44R, I'm a 42L).

Samuelsohn charcoal with small checks SC.  This thing is awesome...I think the nicest I've seen, and it appears very recent based on the Samuelsohn "heart" and the contents tag.  Double side vented (also, there are pocket flaps...they were just tucked in when I took the picture).  Content label says 95/5 wool/cashmere, but it almost feels reversed/like the cashmere content is higher.  Super soft feel, completely unpadded natural shoulders.  I've really dug the few Samuelsohn pieces I've found...they put out a really great product, IMO.

Finally, I went back and got that orphan Corneliani-made Polo Ralph Lauren navy with pinstripes jacket.  Probably stupid, but I just couldn't bear leaving it...it's too gorgeous and it fits me absolutely perfectly (which is weird since I'm definitely a long - 26" sleeves - and this is an R and appears unaltered).  Seriously, I don't think it needs any alterations at all.  I'll find some way to wear this thing, damnit.  Seems recent, obviously well made, nice slimming fit.  Also, I think the mohair makes it lighter because it feels really lightweight...would be great for the Spring/summer.  I haven't given up hope entirely of finding the pants, but the odds are really against me since this GW is far from where I live, and seems to be high traffic and a pants black hole confused.gif.

Unpictured (since I already have too damn many, haha):

Some Allen Edmonds "Norse" split-toe bluchers in my size

Some very dark navy Hickey Freeman trousers in my size (FINALLY I find some decent pants for myself!!)

Hugo Boss black label, black with white pinstipes unvented suit

Burberrys grey Glenn Plaid suit with a light red/pink overcheck

Nice PRL light blue with checks french cuff shirt in my size

a pretty cool looking light orange w/green checks Hickey Freeman shirt (nice thick buttons too)

A nice really heavy duty LL Bean padded jacket which I originally thought I'd hate, but is growing on me by the minute

United Colors of Beneton button down (don't laugh, UCB and Zara Man are my fashion guilty pleasures. I make no apologies)

Sorry if there are too many pics...I can edit some out if there are complaints.

Nice find! As I found out tonight, the Bush Cotton Poplin stuff is the major money maker, but W&G stuff is very sought after in general. You could get $100 at least out of that with a good listing. With that said, that is one of the few W&G items that would be coveted by SFers. It's a classic staple piece by a quality (and often overlooked by those not in-the-know maker). I'm sure you'll get some offers on here.

Firstly, I can only imagine how long this post took to assemble, haha. Worth it, though, for the visuals. That's a great haul.

And though I wouldn't personally do it (not my style), you could probably use that PRL (which is gorgeous, btw) with some medium gray pants or flannels (preferably flat front to avoid making it look like a mismatched suit jacket/suit pants combo). Since it's so bold by itself, most everything else would likely have to be pretty bland to offset it. At least that's how I see it in my head.

I've actually got one and they are pretty amazing - the one I've got is a SB camel cashmere, with a peacoat collar. It is ridiculously nice but it may need to go at the end of this winter as I have dropped a few pounds and it's a bit big on me - how tough is it to get a coat like that nipped in at the waist?

I found a coat like this once. It was so heavy that when I picked it up off the rack, the hanger it was on snapped.

Yeah, it's very heavy, especially with that thick liner. Between the Harris Tweed outer and the thick quilted liner you could probably wear it to Antartica.

if any 46R dudes want a nice navy blazer for cheap, let me know ASAP. over the weekend i saw two identical 46R Hickey Freeman mainline "Madison" blazers. two buttons, double vents. looked pretty damned good to me, i would have kopped if i didn't already have two navy blazers, one of which is that exact model. to my eyes, they look exactly like the model currently being sold at nordstrom: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/hickey-freeman-navy-wool-blazer/3093119?origin=category&resultback=28

lemme know dudes ASAP dudes and i'll go see if they're still in the store tomorrow.

@rose04: +1 on Nataku's comments about the Willis & Geiger blazer. Nice find.

@AndroFan: Score on the J. Press 3/2 blazer. About the 3-roll-1 Golden Fleece: That looks like a 3-roll-2 that's been bent out of shape. I imagine a tailor could restore the correct roll to the lapel.

My recent finds:

LL Bean Norwegian sweaters (L, XL, XXL). The two blue ones are from this week, the others from earlier this month (a third blue one isn't pictured). For the longest time I could never find one of these. I finally bought one on eBay, and then they started raining down:

Good find on the W&G Bush Poplin. Just sold mine today for a crazy amount. My pictures sucked, too.
