I went through my mid - late 1990's Versace phase. Moschino another super loud brand I used to love during that period and Just Cavalli in late 1990's/early 2000's. I am glad I made it through in one piece and am now in the process of restoring my dignity. The only loud brand that I still buy is Etro, I dont know why I love this brand so much.
I've always loved Etro as well.... it's like a crazy, favorite uncle. Kind of a guilty pleasure, but one which I really enjoy!
A little late to the game on this, but I saw a Versace tie the other day at Marshall's. It'd been marked down to $40 with various red tags stacked one another. It was yellow with a few blue dots and a ton of Medusa heads all over it. I'm not sure how long it'd been there, so I can't help with a timeline for the markdowns.
I woulda kop'd for $40. I grabbed a nice Valentino the other day at TJs for the same price.
i'm not a pro on labels and quality like some of y'all are but I think this is a MTM Kiton shirt, made for a really fat short guy. And as a really fat, tall guy, I just found an amazing shirt for any time I need to roll up my sleeves.
Also found a gitman gold shirt in my size at TJ Maxx today.
Passed on Zegna mainline x3, Finnamore x1, and Borrelli x1 shirts that were too small for me (as fancy brands at these stores typically are), so I left them for the next lucky buyers.
Also wondering about a Gieves and Hawks jacket I saw there. I thought I grabbed a picture but I didn't, but anyone know if it would be worth trying to find the accompanying pants? Pretty sure it was pretty mint and wasn't marked up too highly since they weren't too familiar with Savile Row stuff. I'll probably be making a quick stop at one other spot that's been pretty lucrative in the past (where I got some people in this threads PL sweaters) since I've gotta run near the anyway. Will be back to update.
Not horrible, but not worth picking up unless you really like it. It is a discontinued Armani line that was a mid-range of their offerings.
Had a pretty good overall day today. The bad...left behind a staple gray pin oxxford with a tear in the pants (beautiful suit), a few older main line unvented zegna's (bought the nicest 2 to flip), Corneliani navy double pinstripe no pants, Hart Schaffner Marx (current tag) solid gray no pants, and a handfull of beat up zegna and canali shirts. The good stuff will be coming soon in the form of pictures
