^^^ I would have been all over this one if it were true to size. Sadly not true to size, I beat a hasty retreat. And there was me initially excited after seeing 44L figuring it was 56EU.

Dang. Whats with the tiny little shoulders plain.gif, on Brioni it should be at least 20".

^^Fits you so well, you gotta keep it! Find another tailor.
It can't be 44 BTW

I stopped at GW over lunch and picked up a Hickey Freeman suit. It's the Boardroom line which I know isn't their best stuff, but it's a decent score for me. It's a 42L in bluish-gray with a light blue pinstripe. It doesn't fit me so it's available if anyone is interested. PM me for measurements or more photos.

BTW, that seller meesterfancypants on Ebay with the Corallorosso suit linked a bit back that was supposedly a 48 US size but the pit to pit measurement looked too small?
He rejected my $150 offer, but took $175 apparently, just now. Was it anyone here?

I'm more pissed because I sent him a question about the pit to pit measurement and he never even bothered responding. It's not like I was asking the world or anything, he was clearly active, just chose not to respond. I dunno about you guys, but when someone asks a question about an auction, I jump right to it if at all possible! Ah, well, maybe I'm just bitter. lol8[1].gif

Found nada today... got a JW Nordstrom shirt for a friend, they're pretty nice.

Yeah those measurements were interesting.

Was it egyptian cotton with MOP buttons? I have one like that and really like it! Fit isn't great, but fabric is very nice.

1750 on eBay biggrin.gif

Only if the seller has a second account though, right. (I'm actually willing to believe that auction was legit - especially with a new ebayer bidding.)

Maybe a designer to copy. No other way. Palm Beach was not very high quality even in its heyday.

Yeah, it was, actually... I have one of those still in my closet, too. If I found a nicer brand in a similar pattern I'd let it go, but it's hanging on tenaciously in there. I think my friend is going to be really impressed with this one and another I found, he just got a promotion at work and wants to move up from J. Crew shirts but isn't ready to go whole hog just yet.

This is interesting to me too, as I'm selling a Harris Tweed sport coat made by Palm Beach.  I just figured Palm Beach was a no name brand...

That is the effing hotness.  Same length problems as Klobber, otherwise I'd be "bout it bout it", as they say in common parlance.

I can only hope that happens to me. I missed that auction, what was it?

But it was for Belk!

Alright guys, I'd love some help with this.  It *was* a thrift find awhile back and now I'm just trying to categorize it, but I trust the minds here better than anywhere else.

I have this Gieves & Hawkes suit:

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

But I can't help but shake the feeling that this is a Hickey-Freeman label:

100_4726.JPG

It even has the "USA Union made" shit.  Wtf is going on?  Does G&H not make all of their pieces on SR, or is this a "tailored in the USA" label?  Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I can't make sense of it.  Thanks.

EDIT: Welp, shit, found my answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gieves_%26_Hawkes#Timeline

"2008 - gives Hickey Freeman new licence to produce version of its clothes for distribution in North America"

Looks like G&H licenses to HF for their stuff :-/.  Qustion for anyone in the know: how does this affect the quality/value of G&H stuff?  Is the American HF made stuff considered "lesser" (my gut tells me this is a resounding "yes").
