I would imagine that New Mexico town would not have anything worth a damn. I was away in Arkansas and Missouri while all the TJMAX and Marshalls fuss was being made here, and can confirm small town midwest has absolutely ziltch on its TJ/Marshalls racks. Now that I am home in San Francisco, I can confirm they have either been cleaned out or had nothing in the first place. May be only east coast is getting all this fabulous stuff.

I AM EXTREMELY JEALOUS THOUGH mad.gif and am hating this thread at the moment lol8[1].gif
Loro Piana for a pinch, Cucinelli for a pinch, I have a lot of hate inside me.

So I tried going to a different Marshall's in a bigger city.... yeah, fails all around. Found nothing! Not even something worth considering! So I went to the Nordstrom Rack next door (First time I've ever been in one) and found something rather peculiar. I found a Hickey Freeman suit priced at $3,775 and marked down to $949. I'm wondering why a Hickey would be priced that high. It wasn't even their Presidential Collection! My wife came over to inspect it with me and she found a tag saying "Super 180's Wool". I didn't know Hickey used Super 180's! Has anyone else seen this? puzzled.gif

Marshall's in SoCal are pretty well stocked with Cucinelli, Jack Spade, Marc by Marc Jacobs, PRL v neck in pure cashmere or lamb wool, all kinds of SC/suit (BB, PRL, Cornellian, CNC, etc.), Pants by E Zegna, BB, RLBL/RLPL, shirts by RLPL, Canali, ties from Christian Dior, BB, Cornellian, E. Zegna, etc. Also, plenty of Diesel mainline and their Gold Label.

I can confirm that there are Marshall's in Houston, TX with the goods.  Went to one today, found a Brioni tuxedo shirt, two Barbera shirts, a RLPL suede jacket.  I question the wisdom of leaving something like that out on the racks when you've got it marked up to 700 dollars down from a retail of 3000.

Nothing much today. A Lacoste short sleeve that I'll flip when it starts getting warmer; too small for me. A NWT tags CK pair of jeans. Again, flippability; only paid $4 for 'em. A Jos Bank pair of linen pants in khaki color. Only $2! I don't have much linen, so I couldn't pass these up. Look great when freshly drycleaned. A mini polka dotted Land End tie. And, a wooden hanger with a special press clip to hold pants.

Fairly exciting day today...first off, every Goodwill in the Denver metro area was 50% off everything.  I take this to mean that they are clearing out lots of stock in prep for new donations/refreshing the racks, but the ability to score things that are potentially priced too high for a modest sum is awesome.

I passed on my first Brioni...it was the "Roman Style" sub-heading.  DB, terrible creme color, floppy metal buttons, one of which was missing.  Epic, overcompensating lapels.  Right next to it was an Armani Collezioni, which I also left as it was also underwhelming.

That said, I'll start with the triumphant score. Recent Hickey Freeman...staple color...Loro Piana....super 130s.  No pants, but the tag makes no mention of a drop. 44L.  Up for sale or trade for you long torso'd folks.

Can anybody decipher a date on this tag?

An assortment of shirts, some of which have a little wear shown.  Zegna Su Misura FC, Canali FC, Zegna casual windowpane, Piatelli for Barneys FC (ink stains I'm going to try to attack with oxclean/vinegar)

I tried to get a quick shot of some of the pulled threads on the Zegna Su Misura, but you can only really see one off in the distance there.  Do a few of these totally ruin this shirt?

Two Harris Tweeds

And these mintish Pivetta hiking shoes.  These are quite ubiquitous as people have been tossing them aside for lighter weight, techier gear.  A shame considering these are just as competently made as any dress shoe.

And I picked these up based on the color and suppleness of the leather.

I woke up, and there was only one new post in here overnight....The thread must be dead. Save yourselves and your finds.

Grabbed a Robert G and an Etro shirt. Left a few pleated Bills, lots of Brooks Brothers, RLP shirts and a cool spiewak & sons jacket.
Hopefully the jacket will be there next time.

Honestly, I'm almost thrifted out for myself. There's a few odds and ends I'm still looking for such as a nice cardigan and the ever elusive Bill's khaki pants but I'm into double digits in Allen Edmonds, THREE overcoats which I love nearly equally, enough slim fit, non iron spread collar dress shirts in white and blue for two weeks before I need to do the laundry and I have fully canvassed, tailored suits for every day of the week. Hell, I can't even FIND my Harris Tweed SC!

Oh and don't get me started on my tie "collection".

I'm trying to screw up the resolve to begin selling off on ebay some of the early buys that I made that were too large but I bought in my initial excitement. I need to build me some ebay cred!

Found a pair of Raphael shoes in the local thrift, €20. Haven't heard of the brand before but the detailing and handiwork is excellent. Blake construction with a thin sole and higher than usual heel. Judging from the soles and the status of the uppers, they have seen some light indoor use. Bought them to use with my tailcoat but they will probably see some use with a black suit aswell. If anyone happens to know more about these puppies, I would be glad to hear it. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

The Marshalls stores I was talking about were in Roswell, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta. I thought that maybe there would be hidden gems in the hinterlands, but there was just a bunch of the usual low-level stuff. The intown stores, on the other hand ...

What size shoes do you wear (if you want to thin out your AE herd)?
