Good deal? GOOD deal? More like AMAZING, ONCE IN A LIFETIME deal. If it's real, which it likely isn't...

I don't know about clothes, but I know movie studios will sometimes use kit cars instead of the real thing when they are crashing ferraris and lambos. An exception to this is Casino Royale, in which they destroyed not one, but THREE real Aston Martins for a scene.

I hope for your sake that it's real, what an awesome story that would be. Definitely post a few pics if that's the case

Good fakes with nicely ornamented movements would be worth 100 bucks or so. Even if it is fake, good deal. If it is real, it will be a story to remember and quote again, and again, and again, and....

You have to find out and let us know. Take it to an expert. Could you imagine? That would definitely be the new bar here if it's real, not only because it's such an expensive watch, but also because decent watches in general are so rare at thrifts. Good luck, I hope it's the real deal!

As for me, I'm on a NWT ISAIA kick this week. Today it was a NWT ISAIA sport coat in a very dark green herringbone cashmere/linen/silk wool blend. Unfinished sleeves, etc., even the lapel hole is basted. And a Huntsman tie for good measure.

Wow - you've had quite an impressive collection! Thanks for the referral, I'll definitely take it over to him when it gets here. Yeah, my hopes are not high at all. I'm guessing it's probably a really good fake. Like you said though, you never know. Only time will tell. I'll keep you guys posted on this one!

You're on a roll! Wish more Isaia would pop up around these parts. It's on of my favorite labels. NM sells it and people definitely buy it. My tailor had 3 suits and 2 sportcoats hanging on the "Just dropped off" rack. All Isaia from 3 separate guys. Wish they'd donate more

I'm pretty sure at this point that this particular chain of thrifts must be getting overstock from one of the flagship stores that carry Isaia. I've seen a lot of NWT Isaia stuff there over the last couple years, but never as much as recently. The best part is that I saw it on a display mannequin, so people probably weren't paying too much attention to it. Usually they won't sell stuff on display, so I asked when it would be available and the clerk said they were changing the mannequins tomorrow so I could buy it now if I wanted. Which I did of course. I love Isaia as well. I really like their cut and style generally. This sport coat is the fourth NWT Isaia piece I've thrifted in the last 2 months or so.

I rarely go to SA anymore. I'll only go to a local chain that always has good stuff (like the Isaias) though it's expensive for a thrift store. You just have to hit the sales. I also became a member which gives me a discount plus specials. Other than that I'll check Goodwill out on occasion and various small independent charity shops. Just look on google for thrifts in your area, or the yellow pages. And don't be afraid to go to out of the way places. Never know what you'll find.

^SA can be fine, too, though in certain areas. SA and Goodwill quality varies by area. You just have to learn what works in your city.

Yeah, everything differs by location. In one state, a specific chain may use a central distribution center and cherry-pick everything worth money to put aside for their "boutique", eBay or auction listings, etc. One state over, that same chain may just put everything out, not caring what goes where. Just visit the stores and get a feel for how they work. Befriend some store clerks. They're usually really nice and will let you in on the inner-workings of the store/chain and may even let you get first dibs on stuff.
