This lunch checked at thrift store as they putting out ties. Eventhough i dont need these couldnt resist buying these 14 new ties all Ricci at a higher price than i dont like payn at 6 each.

They are all very nice, can someone tell if the ties with the button are 7 fold, as they seem different. Also one states "luxury collection" whats up with that?

Damn right I'll buy it for $10!

Being that I worked in a thrift shop for a couple years as my first job, I came across a lot of people's "stashes" over the couple years I was employed there. Books hidden under the bottom shelves, shirts and jackets hidden inside suitcases/duffle bags/ bowling ball bags, bags of Barbie accessories carefully hidden away inside coolers.....the list goes on. Really? If it's cheap enough - just buy it. The money usually goes to a good cause. What I don't understand is why they hide one item inside another. What if someone buys that duffle bag without looking inside (or does look inside for that matter)?

Why do people do it??? I can't even blame flippers for this. They buy too much stuff to hide. It must be other hobbyists like ourselves.

Blessing in disguise? No one will be buying anything all week, they will either hide or just leave stuff. Simply go do your shopping the day before the sale and look around for hidden gems while you are at it.

It's the principle of the thing!
Having said that, now I know to check in the bags and suitcases as well

I had to have it: Seattle Knitting Mills "SKM - Penguin" 1960s cardigan - doesn't appear to have been worn much, if at all. Great mustard yellow color (a bit marled up close -- greens, golds, etc.). If you have info on SKM I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Picked this up earlier today: Pendleton 1960s brown tweed country gent's jacket. The fit is incredible -- slim, tappered, with long lines. The only pockets -- inside or out -- are the two on the lower front. Ventless backside. Soft shoulder. Very clean design. Excellent condition. GREAT alternative to a blazer.

The jacket seems to be made to wear with all the buttons buttoned (or all unbuttoned), and this was tentatively confirmed by the shop owner, but if there are any aficionados of this style out there, please let me know what's 'correct.' I will say that it just didn't look quite as 'right' when only the middle button, or only the top two buttons, were buttoned.

The blackberry camera really let me down though -- the color is actually a brown & black stone-ground tweed (lining is a Fall-ish looking orange).

Picked up a nice Paul Stuart wool gray/black herringbone overcoat with the velvet collar which fits like a glove (with my typical sweater and shirt underneath). Unfortunately I didn't make it in on Wednesday for 25% off and it had been there a couple weeks... and I won't be able to go back next Wed, so had to buy it today for 50 bones. I hate how they don't know the brands, but sometimes randomly price the stuff I want so high... I guess it goes both ways though as I picked up a Domenico Vacca cashmere sweater from the same SA a few weeks back for $3. Also picked up a silk & linen Clan Douglas sweater for $4 today.

At the local discount retailer, picked up a Paul & Shark wool/cotton shirt for $10, and several pairs of Helmut Lang classic black slacks for $12-14 each, two pairs of Marc Jacobs mainline pants for $20 each, pair of Incotex cords for $20, along with some other pretty decent finds

Decided to go check the store I found Zilli's in. None, but did find something I'd never imagine running into.

Thom Browne.

Granted it was only a tie, but wuuuuut, who would donate their Thom Browne already?

Also picked up a sweet Turnbull and Asser tie. Saw a couple other nice ties, Hermes, Armani etc, but didn't have the dough. Curse being a poor college student!

Ok...bragging to continue here...I picked up an original East West leather motorcycle jacket. Complete with drug stash pocket under the collar! If I could lose my gut I might even be able to wear it!
