I've been doing this for less than a year and I'm still getting the hang of it as well (I can't imagine having to start reading this thread from the beginning now instead of the 600 pages I had to slog through in January when I started my education). Everybody always has something to learn and something to teach which is why I enjoy this thread so much. It also helps keep me motivated during my dry spells (which are frequent).

I guess what I'm trying to say is: keep at it (and what size are those shoes you speak of?)

Yes, but the tie is probably from their RTW stuff...they have a line of ties, shirts, tailored clothing. Some is by Nervesa. Don't know who makes the ties. Still good taste and high quality, sold at Bergdorf's, I think, at least at one time.

Came home with a big box of nothing today.

Southwick charcoal suit for Neiman Marcus in a 42R. ALMOST picked this up, just because of how nice it was, but the zipper was broken (wouldn't pull up, although that's a pretty cheap fix at the tailor) and it was ultimately too big for me. 42R was probably accurate, although it might fit someone on the edge of 40R.

Saw a blue 2B Oxxford SC for Neiman Marcus. Ecstatic b/c it was my size, so I scoured for the pants. Couldn't find the pants and then noticed several moth holes in the coat.

Also so a Polo University Club blue windowpane SC. Actually very nice, but too big. Probably a 42S or 42R, although I don't recall the length offhand.

Also found a 2B stefano ricci, but the pants were full of holes.

My guess is some sadist saw all his stuff had holes, read this thread, and decided to have fun with me. At least that's the story I'm sticking with today.

I lost a Zeiss camera which I thrifted. It is without a doubt gone, because I have moved since I bought it.

Sport coats don't have matching pants.

Thanks for the correction, I wrote that up a bit quickly. In any case, moth holes.

Nice finds! I have a couple Cifonelli items (a blouson and a shirt) I bought off eBay which are very nice (great fabrics and construction) and apparently quite pricey at retail.

Awesome! Take it while you can - you've got a good thing going there!

Actually I've had this happen a few times in the past. Apparently the items that were lost couldn't have been that nice because I can't recall what they were!

Whooooa! Details my friend, details! Those are two of the holy grails of thrifting, and you got both in one hit?!

The kiton will def. be up for sale but I am considering keeping the Attolini. Pics and Details will be up soon, but now I have a wedding to attend.

...they were at an estate sale but, MUCH to my dismay, there were no clothing items in the sale.

These are still very nice hangars.

I'll have to start checking out estate sales in my area. Some ritzy neighborhoods nearby.

^^ Dang! Score on the widw-shouldered Oxxford hangers! I found a bunch at an estate sale over the summer too, except the guy was also selling his whole Oxxford wardrobe. I would have asked if they had any clothes they were getting rid of anyway.

Hit my usual thrift stores today. One is notorious for splitting suits up  as they have 100+ jackets and like 5 suits on the rack. Found a nice Hickey Freeman jacket, and wanted those pants so took my time looking through pants (which I never do). On the last rack of pants I ended up finding them, but also found a pair of Isaia pants which are solid gray but obviously for a suit At least someone got a nice SC I'm sure.

 

Also found a NWT Canali tie, two Borrelli shirts, aMartin Greenfield S/C and a bunch of other goodies which I should have pictures and listed tomorrow.
