I found a Alan Flusser suit, tons of hand work, but I am surprise that the sleeves are not functional. Brooks Brothers Loafers and a wool cashmere blend Zegna tie

i had a good day today at just 1 store. 2 recent zegna pants (not orphaned) wool/cotton wool/cashmire both look brand new and fit awesome. 7 coach belts, 2 lizard belts, a couple cloth/leather casual belts, pair of church's custom grade lizard loafers, gator loafers, loewe suede shoes, and some questionable horse bit loafers that look like gucci fakes. the shoes are all up for trade because they are too small for me and too large for my father. i think they are all 11 or 11 1/2. Shoes are still dirty, not polished or even wiped off.

**what looked to be fake gucci's had no gucci but had R. Meledandre on them. They were resoled... why do that to fakes. Does anyone know anything about this guy, i've googled it and found some info. Could these be gucci's labeled for meledandre's store?

Roland Meledandri was a very stylish tailor & haberdasher in the New York of the 60s and 70s. He was a mentor & big influence on Ralph Lauren.

So they should be well made. On the other hand. Gucci-style loafers are very lightly constructed. Don't wear them in the rain!

At the end of the day, if the thrift store can sell items for outrageous amounts of money, all the better. If it's a non-profit, usually the money goes to charity anyways - don't lose sight of that in your quest for $5 brioni pants. Let those old ladies pay $100 and get some more money for medical research (or whatever).

I see what you mean, but I guess you kind of have to see this particular store and the neighborhood it's in to understand what I'm talking about. Trust me, these ladies are mega-rich, like multi-millionaire several times over rich. And my main beef with the store is that they often have a "Brioni Collection" section that they must get straight from Brioni as defects or display items. I've seen sportcoats that are sunfaded down one side as if they'd been in a storefront window for months being sold for $500. It's kind of insulting to me actually, even if they are trying to raise money for a good cause. Maybe don't call yourself a "thrift" store and I'd take less of an issue with the situation. Regardless, I have scored some brilliant stuff there, but you have to be very discerning and willing to pay more. Usually it's very nice bespoke, if not Savile Row, that they don't recognize and sell for less (like $100 for a sportcoat that I get in a rare 50% off sale). I'll spend the money on those odd occasions, knowing, as you point out, that at least the money's going to a good cause.

This has been a week for music scores. Tons of amazing LPs in excellent condition including someone's entire Genesis discography and a ton of reggae including a bunch of Jimmy Cliff.
