It's everything you'd expect from Oxxford, with perhaps a few extra flourishes, but my favorite part is the buttons... drool.gif

Just got a camelhair version of this in a trade = a size 44. What was the MRSP on these when they came out?

Well, I figure its time to share some of my finds with this thrifting community. I've been thrifting for years in silence.. typically gloating to myself and not having anyone who appreciates the art.
So its been nice ( and with amazement) to able to see everyones' finds in this thread.

I thought I would start off with a couple of my recent fave items. The are not thrift finds but consignment finds.

1)
Recent Zegna Couture , Su Misura, 14 mil mil, Navy two button , double vented suit. 40 S. Came with original zegna wood hanger.
Literally never worn condition. Only needed to alter the pants.
I paid 320 bucks. Although its not thrift store price, I thought it interesting to note that it was priced the same as their Z Zegna stuff. Go figure.

2)
Brunello Cucinelli Navy Two button elbow patch blazer. 40 S ( ish )

Again, consignment store find. 107 bucks.

Again, not thrift store prices, but I consider bargains nevertheless. Probably never gonna see these items in a thrift store for at least 15 years or unless some baller dude croaks.

I was going through an antique store when I found something strange - a Hart Schaffner Marx suit, "designed by Christian Dior." Should I be interested in this?

Kind of interesting...I'm sure the two just had some partnership where HSM slapped the Christian Dior (primarily women's wear) label on the jacket. Considering the limited involvement of Christian Dior in menswear, I've been finding TONS of it lately. Yesterday I found 4 ties and a trench coat from Christian Dior. And I found a few other ties the day before.

Anyways, two kind of weird-awesome finds yesterday.

1) A limited addition crawfish boil Vineyard Vines tie. Living in Louisiana (come spring, there will be a crawfish boil over weekend), this is freaking awesome. I couldn't find any of these anywhere else online. Kind of psyched about this. I also found a lot of about 10 other vineyard vines ties, 2 Emporio Armanis (though one was kind of ugly so I put it down), MORE brooks brothers (including a pretty cool Brooks Brothers Martini tie).

2) A wool-knitted deep purple Hugo Boss (made in Germany) blazer. Peaked lapels and single button. Very strange, unique blazer. And it gets worse. The tagged size was a 46. However, I usually wear a slim 40R and this fit me perfectly (it doesn't make sense by any sizing standard). I did some research. It sold from a store called Weinsteins, which sells upscale WOMEN'S wear. Did I just get a women's blazer that fits me perfectly and I like? Could be.

so i spend a lot of time in thrift stores, but its usually looking for vintage women's clothing for my gf to shop to etsy or clothing (richmond has total shit for men's clothing). today was different - she found a pair of no 8 shell alden captoe bluchers in my size on the aberdeen last. nice condition, could maybe use a resole. $5!

other than that the nicest thing i've ever found around here is some harris tweed blazers frown.gif

Nice score on the VV ties. Vineyard Vines stuff is pretty nice, a good alternative to Hermes if you're into them and they have pretty good resale value as well. As for the Boss jacket, I'm almost positive Hugo Boss is a menswear designer. A way to tell if something is mens or womens is to look at which way it buttons up. Mens stuff buttons left to right and womens is visa versa.
