I had found the schematic, it's the operating manual I'd lIke to get my hands on.

Out of town again, and just ONE STORE:

Two Oxxford suits
Two Oxxford SC's
Three Oxxford pants
RG shirt for me (it's an older one and more reserved)

The kicker was... it was all one guy, naturally, and I LEFT two MORE oxxford suits, one more SC and two more pants due to various irretrievable condition issues. I think the ones I left were probably his wardrobe faves - the SC was an amazing "open-weave" summer blazer, clearly heavily worn, lining holes in multiple places, cuff ends worn to the point of having holes, one button missing... he loved that jacket!

Bonus: it all fits my hard-to-fit dad (he's really a 42XL), so he's throwing out Men's Wearhouse/S&K stuff and replacing it with Oxxford. Score! He may be the best-dressed engineer in the county now!

A find like that (and my recent KY jaunt) really restores my faith a bit in thrifting. The bad thing? I'm out of town when the Filene's back home gets in a haul including Tom Ford ties... and I've been trying to find a cheap TF just to have an example of one.

Go, Dad!

Speaking of well loved garments, I came across an old Invertere safari jacket last week. It had been worn to death, holes worn at the cuffs, etc. Another guy who got the best out of his quality gear.

Saw these tie clips and couldn't resist. Not 100% sure who it is supposed to be...at first I thought they look like Eisenhower but too much hair and I've never see pics of Eisenhower in a bow tie.

Been a reader for a few months, figured it was time to finally register and post my first few finds. Jacket is a Lands' End Charter Collection Harris Tweed 42L. Both ties are Ermenegildo Zegna, 3 3/4 inches wide. Scored them months ago, along with an old school BB tie and old school LL Bean shirt-jacket. I'll post pics of those later and hopefully my photography skills will improve with more finds.

Everyone kept asking him to show photos as proof which he never seemed able to do.

DAMN! Right in time for Fathers' Day, no less!

Had some good finds today in the shirt section.

Robert Talbott barrel cuff (PM me if you're interested in this one)
2 Thomas Pink French cuffs
Charles Tyrwhitt French cuff
AND a women's BB French cuff that fits me! (been looking for some ladies BB for a while now but it seems like only fat women donate their BB)

Stopped by a store on a lark today:

Two BB polos for me - from last spring/summer - I actually bought an identical one from BB last spring.
One Lacoste polo to sell cheap, size 6
And what I thought was an awesome find... Ralph Lauren belt, Genuine American Alligator. My feelings of elation quickly faded to dismay as I realized a) it was size M - I've wanted an alligator/croc belt for awhile but would need a larger size and b) it's womens.

Decided to pick it up anyway since it's in essentially NWOT condition, figured it had to be worth something since it's genuine alligator. Of course, when I get home, it looks like RL alligator belts don't sell for shit. WTF?! Is there something I'm missing?!

Any ideas on what to do with this, or should I just try to have a watch strap made from it or something?

I may have turned a corner today. I picked up a pair of utility slacks for SWMBO to wear to work. She seemed to appreciate the thought. I, on the other hand, came away empty handed...by choice. Three very serviceable Brooks Brothers dress shirts did not fill any of my current needs so I passed! I tried on a pair of blue label RL in the Ethan fit (see below) in a soft canary yellow. The relaxed cut was a bit too full for my taste so I kept my five bucks and hung them back on the rack. Then there was the gold Brooks Brothers gren tie... damn that spot! Bad dog.
