From all my reading, Peal & Co for BB shoes are tagged with their US size, it I found these beauties (for a little more than thrift price) and I can get my 10/10.5 foot uncomfortably in them, and they are tagged 8.5 D. Have outsole length of 12.25" which also seems on the long side.
Thoughts anyone?

Barbour Beaufort + hood. Purchased with the funds from recently flipped Margiela and Isaia suits. To add another data point to the internet: I normally take a 42; 40 in the Beaufort fits me great.

My first thought is, I am an 8.5 D and those would look nice in my closet. However, I recently scored a fab pair of brand-new with bags Walkover wingtip boots on the Bay for south of $100, so I don't really need them.

That said, a couple of things.

One, if they don't fit, you should get rid of them. There is no way to make ill-fitting shoes or boots work, no matter how much you might like the look.

Two--and this has been said a hundred million bazillion times--sole measurements mean nothing. Nada. Zero. Don't believe me? Go to your closet, pick out two different shoes that fit well, measure the soles and you'll find that the measurements are different. If this isn't clear, then let me say this: Measuring soles is an absolute, utter, complete waste of time. Legendary SF seller Steve Smith, who knows better than most what he's doing, refuses to measure soles because he knows a, it's a waste of time, b, most folks who ask for sole measurements are tire-kickers who never pull the trigger. At one time, he would measure soles for $5, with that cost applied toward the purchase if a deal was consummated. I do not believe that anyone ever took him up on that offer. I have sold exactly one pair of shoes after providing measurements to someone, and I usually won't do it because, again, it is a waste of everyone's time. I cannot figure out how or why anyone got the idea that you can judge whether shoes fit by measuring soles, but it is way up there in the all-time myths of secondhand fashion lore.

I should have been more explicit. I wasn't hoping to make these work on me, I was more curious about whether they are really 8.5 or, as Fueco has speculated, perhaps 9.5. They are unworn C&J for Peal BB on the 240 last and I will be selling for hopefully large profits. Had they been 10s I would have been rocking them for sure.

I make no claim to what the measurements translate to (because they don't translate to anything) but it stops me getting messages requesting them.

Just measured three pairs of shoes...

My Allen Edmonds are 12 1/8 long on the outsole. My Edward Greens and Mezlans are 11 7/8.

All three are 9.5.

Okay, I'm making this killer suit available here before posting it up on the Bay...

Tom James bespoke suit dated 4/24/96. It's in outstanding condition. All I've found are a couple of almost unnoticeable stains on the liner. The fabric itself is excellent.

It appears to be a dark gray (depends on lighting) with light gray and red pinstriping. Three buttons.

I estimate it as close to a 44R.

Partial thrifted fit from this morning. It all began with thinking about how to use a cool Charvet tie I received in a trade from k4lnamja. I was going for a casual look today. Because of the sad state of modern dress a colleague came up to me and asked if I had an important off-site meeting. I guess wearing something other than a long-sleeve knit polo shirt means either an important meeting or a job interview or maybe a wedding or funeral.

• Topman SC with black button and back stitching on the buttonholes. A bit fashion forward for me but worked with the trousers.

You can stretch for width in the front part - depending on construction - but certainly not for length.
