Here's the Barbour I grabbed on Friday.

Still smells oily, but might need to be re-oiled/waxed....not sure how to tell. It seems nearly unworn, only a tiny smudge here and there. Detachable hood, throat latch, zipped and snapped enclosure. Double zipped rear game pocket, reinforced shoulders and forearms, double snapped waterproof poly cuffs.

That Barbour looks awfully dry to me. I'd re-proof it yesterday. Regardless, a great pickup. You don't often see that configuration.

Thought this would be of interest to some of you. I picked up a severely stained Hermes tie recently for $2. I sent it to the Cordial Churchman in South Carolina, and a week later they sent back this custom bow tie (stain free):

1000

1000

$29. Something to consider next time you see a stained Hermes.

Nicely played. The CC never disappoints.

Thanks,

Hmm. It's only $30 to have Barbour reproof it for me. Sounds worth it, considering the waxy mess I would probably make of it.

Vintage midnight blue flannel tux, from the 1940s. It is available if anyone is interested, but it is TINY.

Chest (armpit to armpit): 19
Shoulders (seam to seam): 17

Waist: 30 + 2
Inseam: 30 + 1
Rise: 13.25
Width of Leg Opening: 9

Man, that is cool. As Barrel said, would look great on Easter. Almost makes me wish some of the Hermes, Ferragamo, etc. were stained to justify doing this to them. Some of the most ridiculous neckties make awesome bowties!

Haha, I hope not.
Will that Hermès label be facing out from the center knot when it's tied?

Oh, and I want to jump on the bandwagon and give a big shout-out to size 38R for one of my best trades ever, involving multiple suits and accessories. Haven't even shipped yet, but excited! Thanks also to Tubs for being an incredible guy.

Let me know how that goes. I need to reproof mine.

BTW, you got those shell Cambridges from me.

Edit: The second part was meant for Eazye, but the quote didn't show up.

Ahhhh, that's right. I've had so many trades with everybody here that it's hard to keep track of what I got from whom. :fistbump:

It's really easy. Get a tin from J Crew for $12. Use a hair dryer after you slather it on to re-heat it and get it to soak in.

I don't think that coat has ever been waxed, though.

It sure smells a lot like mink oil and feels waxy. However, the pics of the new ones are the same light green color.

Here's the stuff I found yesterday

Vintage HF cream shawl collar evening jacket, made for Walter BD Hickey, Jr. who was the President of HF in '64 according to this

MOP buttons

hand stitching under the collar, hand stitched button hole on the lapel

a hole I missed under the left arm. Only damage I could find. It's worth getting this rewoven, I think

Very nice spalla camicia

Helmut Lang gray blazer. May have been an orphan, but I couldn't find the pants

Marked a 48 Italian, but fits more like a 40-41 US

Jeez. I bring in a piece of sartorial history, made for one of the Hickey's of Hickey Freeman who was the PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY at the time with ridiculous hand-work AND a Helmut Lang blazer and NOTHING. It's like I don't even know you people anymore.
